California’s Democrat leaders are currently playing a game of “X number of steps to an insurrection”. And ‘X’ is determined by their acclerationism.
The state’s ruling majority, whose power derives in no small part from illegal aliens, had created a sanctuary state by force which prohibited law enforcement from cooperating with immigration authorities. Los Angeles and other municipalities are trying to move forward legislation that would impel the LAPD and other police forces to interfere with immigration arrests. That’s a catastrophic idea of the kind that could lead to a violent confrontation with federal law enforcement. The Democrat politicians pushing this hope that is indeed what will happen.
Huntington Park Mayor Arturo Flores released a statement Saturday, condemning what he called “masked abductions” amid immigration raids across Los Angeles County, and directing police to intervene in unlawful or unauthorized operations.
“These are not lawful arrests. These are abductions,” said Mayor Flores.
Flores said he’s received reports of masked and unidentified individuals abducting residents in broad daylight. “These actions have sparked rumors of unauthorized vigilantes or bounty hunters operating under the guise of federal enforcement, have triggered widespread fear and confusion throughout the community.”
“This is not immigration enforcement. This is state-sanctioned intimidation,” said Flores. “I am calling for the immediate cessation of these raids and for the Huntington Park Police Department to begin verifying the identities and authority of any individuals conducting such operations within city limits.”
The statement shared that the mayor formally directed the police department to enforce laws concerning unmarked vehicles, visible license plates and required agency identification. “He is urging law enforcement to investigate and intervene in any unauthorized operations that place public safety or civil liberties at risk,” continued the message.
Telling the police to interfere with ICE arrests is a terrible idea. And I’m pretty sure that Flores knows that urging the police to start trying to challenge the authority of a federal law enforcement agency in the middle of a raid and facing rioters is likely to end badly.
Having it end badly is the goal. But considering that LA’s escalation led to National Guard deployment, is Flores looking for soldiers to show up in Huntington Park so the local cops can ask them for their IDs?
California and its cities are not actually seperate from the United States. Directing police to interfere with law enforcement operations is an insurrection.
And California has been in a state of insurrection for much too long.
Dangerous business. Not too smart.
ARREST THE COPS FOR OBSTRUCTION if they interfere. Sue the mayor.

The History of Rome is actually quite good and instructive on such situations. An accidental encounter in Rome between the street gangs of Milo and the infamous Clodius (Caesar’s pawn) led to the death of Clodius, which led to Riots, which Pompey brought in soldiers to suppress, which resulted in Pompey becoming dictator (the place I am at in my current reading 🙂
So conflicts between local police and ICE could have unforeseeable consequences.
I hope we Californians don’t end up with a Pompey! The only reason that guy is in the history books is because of his incompetence and ignominious military failure and death.
There’s this show on Netflix that chronicles several Roman Emperors that had a scene where the Parthians poured some boiling liquid down Pompey’s throat after he was captured. I don’t remember what liquid it was but it looked very painful. Theatrical license, sure but it probably isn’t far from the truth.
It’s good. You should watch it. Last I knew, Netflix was only ten bucks a month. I haven’t paid my bill in YEARS but I keep getting it for free. It’s one of the best investments I’ve ever made. 🙂

The mayor “has received reports”, which means the dems had a strategy session on coming up with a pretext to use local law enforcement to disrupt ICE enforcement of immigration law. Of course, it’s easy to point out that identifying people in their city to ensure they are authorized to live and work there would solve the whole problem and ICE would not have to be there.
Why don’t all these leftist morons just move to an island far from the US, which they could call Assholes Land?

Wonder if the most western parts of the entire coast did decide to secede, how would they do, with no federal money coming in, and a large population of homeless and people there illegally, and with most of the tax base having left? Sounds like a veritable 3td world scenario.
What about the Eastern coast? It’s even worse. At least California, Oregon and Washington are beautiful.The East Coast metropolises are ugly and so are the people.
Jeff, I did the West Coast drive last August and lived for two years in LA in 1979-81. Many westerners are unaware of the beauty of the East Coast. I haven’t done Oregon and Washington yet, so I won’t comment, but nothing in California holds a candle to the Catskills and the Adirondacks, and the Maine Coast and much of New England is also very beautiful. As far as the attractiveness of the people, I noticed a sadness and droopiness in LA when I was there last August that wasn’t there 45 years ago, when it was more dynamic and entrepreneurial. The women in LA and New York are on an equal par. San Francisco is unimpressive in every respect. I’d rather be in 100 places than San Francisco. San Diego is nice but lacks culture.
This is obviously a local attempt to violate the federal supremacy law that says federal law “TRUMPS” state and local law. If they interfere, arrest the cops and politicians on federal charges and send them to federal prison.

I just can’t see PD chiefs and sheriffs ordering their departments to interfere with ICE
I retired from law enforcement and I cannot see 100% compliance with order from chiefs and sheriffs to interfere with ICE – like trained soldiers, law enforcement act on command but this is beyond f’ing reasonable they will discuss – because if this comes to pass, the President Trump will deploy more National Guard and military and I just cannot see a blockade of law enforcement pulled from 911 calls physically push back against the wall of military that are protecting ICE to carry out their duties – But as the ring master in the circus says: “Folks, you ain’t seen nuttin yet!”
Yes, I don’t buy it either. I figure it’s pure bluster on that Mayor’s part. My sister is a Riverside County Ca sheriff and I know she wouldn’t go along with an illegal order like that. I talk to local cops her in San Jose and none of them seem like storm troopers.

This ingrate is about to poke the bear. Trump doesn’t play their game. This mayor is going to get arrested if any of his comments are legit. He will get the Holman treatment and it will be in the news that Holman is a terrible pig. He sowed to the wind and he is going to reap the whirlwind.
I noticed “California and its cities are not actually seperate from the United States,” and thought the word separate and the term California city have something in common. Neither can be spelled without “a rat.”
It is time to build a wall along California’s eastern border.

What Flores should call “state-sanctioned intimidation” are the sanctuary policies of California along with all the policies that have endangered the American citizens still living there.
