Anyone remember WW3? Before President Trump took out Iran’s nuclear program, various ‘experts’ and ‘influencers’ frenziedly warned us that a world war was coming and millions of Americans would die if we attacked Iran.
Some, like Tucker Carlson (who seems to spend half his time in the Gulf and seems to have offered flattering interviews to every Muslim tyrant in the region), were obvious agents of foreign influence, others may have been sincere in their hysteria, but the combined effect made the movement look like clowns, especially once they were proven wrong. Most refused to admit they were wrong, but have gone on claiming that if it wasn’t for their bedwetting, we’d all be dead.
Whoever won the debate on social media is hard to say, but we all know who won the debate in real life. Trump acted and shrugged off the antics. But, interestingly, there are signs he’s pivoting on Ukraine. While that may be in part hardball negotiating politics due to Putin’s refusal to make a deal, but it seems to have ramped up after the same people who had vocally argued against U.S. support for Ukraine burned up all their credibility trying to stop a U.S. strike on Iran’s nukes.
I’ve been a longtime critic of the U.S. backing for Ukraine under Biden, and it’s unfortunate that a legitimate position was discredited by dubious figures and even more dubious experts who spent a week telling us that a third of of Tel Aviv had been destroyed and Russia and China would bomb us if we hit Iran. Many of them showed they were ignorant, idiots or agents of foreign influence.
President Trump was paying attention. This is why it’s important to keep a movement, a faction or a trend ‘clean’. The same people who claimed they were stopping us from being dragged into a war in Iran may have ironically dragged us into a war in Ukraine.
I like the term “ bedwetters.” Thanks. It amuses me to apply it to hyperventilating Bannon and his ever expanding ilk.
The “Rules-Based International Order” of the EU, WHO, IMF, NATO, and WEF pose a much greater threat to our individual liberties than does Russia. In fact, Russia poses no threat to America, other than competition in the Arctic. Hell, there are more commies in the Democrap party than there are in all of Russia at this point.
We shouldn’t be fighting on behalf of any country, imo. Sending Ukraine billions that no one knows where billions went is criminal. Funding Ukraines pension as Biden stated is traitorous.
Israel isn’t our ally anymore than any other country is. Israel does what’s in Israel’s best interest. For decades we’ve sent Israel foreign aid above and beyond any other country. Yet, Israel has the gall to tariff our goods. How generous and what an ally.
I’d feel the same about the country my ancestors came from. I’m an American. People should start caring like that. Cut the funding. Period.
The ongoing fracturing of the MAGA right has been interesting to watch, to say the least–total isolationists, doctinaire libertarians, constitutionalists, and simple patriots duking it out. Last night’s interview with Mike Benz on Jesse Kelly’s show really made the excellent argument, once again, for why we should not be in Ukraine, and how NATO is not the force for good we always want to believe it is. And he brings the historical receipts. Not sure what his take on our helping Israel is, but he remains a real thorn in the side of the entrenched bureaucracies. Surprising that he is still alive.
I’m a longtime supporter of helping Ukraine resist its own destruction. Russia wants to wipe Ukraine off the map. They don’t recognize Ukraine as a nation. All the weapons we send to Ukraine will tie up Russia, one of the chief patrons of Iran. This is an easy call, just as it was an easy call to support Israel against Iran.
There is a China-Russia-Iran axis at war with the West. Isolationism is pretending the problem won’t come after you. Let’s fight back.
Absolutely correct people like Carlson – who I called woke right- are no better than woke left. They are theoretical ideologs who are disconnected from real life. What they don’t understands is real life is not abstraction. Trump is not an ideolog he’s a realist. Rational people like Trump act as circumstances at the time requires. As circumstances changes so is the response to it. And Trump is doing exactly what Ukraine situation requires at this moment. If situation changes Trump response to it will change accordingly.
Precisely put – we have a woke right and a woke left and the problem is they are not rolling up their sleeves and getting their hands dirty – somehow they have found their existence babbling on podcasts and social nitwit or is that social network platforms? They don’t want to listen they do not know how – Everyone is babbling and no one is listening – and yes “Trump is not an ideolog he’s a realist.” and he is a survivor!
Diabolically funny – when AutoPen brain dead Biden was in office everything was fine – the media never mentioned wide open borders and Ukraine as the money laundering criminal racket and fuck the citizens of Ukraine and Ukraine and Russian soldiers being slaughtered as long as they are getting their payola in their numbered accounts, This is still going on or why would the insane leaders of Ukraine and Russia still be going at it?
USA will not send troops to fight against Russia for Ukraine.
Maybe Trump is doing this for the wrong reasons Daniel and it’s not clear that you are absolutely against participation in the Ukraine, but it’s a wrong position if you are. Respectfully. rovian Don whisperers and neocons. Elites can always gain his ear over national interest I’m afraid.
At some point Trump has to stand up to Putin and let him know that he doesn’t get the whole country. He was put in a bad position by clinton,malibu- xhiden and the others who ceded the Ukraine for cash and only aided the nation because they could grift another ton of cash, but when Putin invades a sovereign nation, the US most of the time has to defend. It’s an important issue that only gets dangerous if ignored.
