Israel lives in a tough neighborhood – just recently in Syria security forces shot and killed 12 factory workers returning home from work in a bus near the town of Qusayr, marking the third massacre reported from Syria in the last week — including the execution-style murder of 13 men near the eastern city of Deir Elzour and the house-to-house killings of 108 people, mostly children and women, in the township of Houla in Homs province.
There’s been an uprising against President Bashar Assad for the better part of a year – and the silence has been absolutely deafening from the many supposedly concerned about peace in the Middle East and human rights organizations. We have heard so much about the desperate need for “aid” flotillas to the poor people of Gaza – but where are those organizations today? The great peace folks of the Middle East, including Peter Beinart – where are you?
Such silence even though so many have been butchered? Could one imagine the media and Public Relations outcry if the IDF fired upon a funeral? There’s a sickening double standard against Israel – and a complete lack of understanding of the barbarians which surround Israel.
A simple Google search for “Syrian flotilla” will show that an Iranian flotilla arrived that is providing training to Iran’s navy, as joint training exercises have been conducted between Iran and Syria. A large Russian naval flotilla was also stationed in a Syrian port last month as a show of solidarity by Russia to President Bashar al-Assad of Syria.
