	It's a little awkward when reality inconveniently fails <a href="https://sos.ga.gov/news/record-early-voting-turnout-continues-4">to match up</a> with your political narrative.

		Through Wednesday, May 19th, over 565,000 people have early voted in Georgia—a 189% increase from the same point in the early voting period in the 2018 primary election and a 153% increase in the same point in the early voting period in the 2020 primary election. Georgia has had record early voting turnout since the first day of early voting this year, surging to nearly three times the number on the first day of primary voting in 2018 and double that of 2020, and has continued on that path since.

	So much<a href="https://www.yahoo.com/video/georgia-early-voting-shatters-records-213543834.html"> for Jim Crow</a>.

		But the law was widely panned by critics, with&nbsp;President Biden calling the legislation&nbsp;the return to the days of "Jim Crow."

	
		"At a time when parts of our country are backsliding,"&nbsp;Biden said at the time.&nbsp;"The days of Jim Crow, passing laws that harken back to the era of poll taxes, when Black people were made to guess how many beans&nbsp;—&nbsp;how many jelly beans in a jar,&nbsp;or count the number of bubbles in a bar of soap before they could cast their ballot."

	
		The new law caught the attention of Major League Baseball, which pulled the 2021&nbsp;All-Star Game from Atlanta&nbsp;in response to the law, arguing that it restricted access to voting.

	
		"I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year’s All-Star Game and MLB Draft," MLB Commissioner&nbsp;Rob Manfred said in a statement at the time.
</blockquote>


	There might <a href="https://www.ajc.com/politics/turnout-surges-in-georgia-primary-led-by-resurgent-republicans/AWMAIU2PFVHR5OKMZWZ55GOJB4/">even be signs</a> of Democrats going Republican.

		About&nbsp;7% of Republican ballots&nbsp;so far have come from voters who cast Democratic ballots in the 2020 primary. Georgia is an open primary state, meaning voters can choose which party’s ballot they want.

	Clearly, voter suppression at its finest.

Media Claimed Georgia's Voting Law Would Suppress Vote. It's Up 189%.

I'm not talking about getting the companies that dump Made in China in every dollar store out of China. Or for that matter every Bed, Bath, and Beyond.&nbsp;


	But Apple is probably the most premium product manufacturer in the country. Apple's tech is vastly overpriced and comes with markups of between 100% to 200%. Never mind those $1,000 stands. If any company can afford to relocate from China, it ought to be Apple.


	Instead, Apple keeps talking about it. And then talking about it some more.


	There was talk under Trump when an economic war was underway. There's<a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/apple-looks-to-boost-production-outside-china-11653142077?mod=djemalertNEWS"> more talk now</a> that China is locking down its own tech industry.

		Apple&nbsp;has told some of its contract manufacturers that it wants to boost production outside China, citing Beijing’s&nbsp;strict anti-Covid policy&nbsp;among other reasons, people involved in the discussions said.
</blockquote>


	Obviously, moral issues wouldn't be a factor.


	Apple has been happy with strict COVID policies at home, but these are interfering with its manufacturing base and the connections between its people and the manufacturing on the ground.

		China’s travel restrictions have meant that Apple has&nbsp;curtailed sending executives and engineers&nbsp;into the country over the past two years, making it hard to check production sites in person

	It's virtually unthinkable for a company to have such fragile oversight over its manufacturing, but that's the state of play in China,


	But even while Apple is exploring moving out of China, it's looking to take China with it.

		Taiwan-based assemblers&nbsp;Foxconn Technology Group&nbsp;and&nbsp;Wistron&nbsp;Corp. have already set up factories in India to produce iPhones mainly for that country’s domestic market, where Apple sales are growing rapidly. In April, Apple said it has begun producing the latest generation of iPhones, the iPhone 13 series, in India.

	
		Apple is now speaking to some existing suppliers about&nbsp;expanding in India, including potentially production for export, the people said.

	
		One problem with India is the difficulty China-based assemblers have setting up shop there because of chilly relations between New Delhi and Beijing, analysts and suppliers said. The two countries’ militaries fought a&nbsp;deadly clash along their disputed border&nbsp;in 2020, and recently have had a diplomatic dispute over&nbsp;Indian regulators’ treatment&nbsp;of Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi Corp.

	Apple might want to leave China, but only as part of China's expansion abroad.&nbsp;


	Basically, Apple is a Chinese company pretending to be an American company.

New York City mayors continue to believe, for some inexplicable reason, that they were chosen to run for the White House.


	It was understandable why Giuliani, coming off a heroic performance as mayor (and that's even before 9/11) launched a presidential bid. I supported him at the time, but his campaign&nbsp;was a poorly planned mess.


	Presidential campaigns by Bloomberg and Bill de Blasio were much more inexplicable. Particularly the latter, when Bill de Blasio launched his presidential run, everyone in New York City hated him.&nbsp;


	So why not run for the big job?


	Mayor Eric Adams has hardly been in office and he's <a href="https://nypost.com/2022/05/21/eric-adams-eyeing-white-house-run-in-2024-sources/">already thinking</a> about it.

		Mayor Adams may be eyeing a White House run if President Biden doesn’t seek a second term, confidantes and City Hall insiders told The Post.

	
		“Eric has told me repeatedly that he thinks that he has a platform to run for national office, for president in 2024. He has said that repeatedly. He thinks New York is a national platform. He thinks the national party has gotten too far to the left and he thinks he has a platform to win,” a person close to the mayor said.

	
		A Brooklyn Democratic elected official who was also frequently in talks with the mayor said Adams was “considering a White House run in 2024 if Biden doesn’t seek re-election,” adding that Adams’ advisor Ingrid Lewis-Martin was “running point” on the issue.

	If Adams were to turn around the city, he might have some kind of shot, but I don't see that happening in the next year and a half. Or probably at all.


	I've been the guy pouring cold water on newfound enthusiasm for Adams. But apart from all that, he's unlikely to do it because his hands are mostly tied. Cuomo and New York State Dems passed pro-crime bills that eliminated bail and made arresting criminals futile. The City Council and most city officials are woke lefties who support even more extreme measures. Never mind the Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg.


	Adams has no real plan for turning things around except getting more cops on the job and giving them more discretion. And while that might dial back the crime rates a bit, but it would take a much more aggressive set of measures akin to the Giuliani era to move the dial.


	Furthermore there was a growing national turnaround when Giuliani came along.&nbsp;


	Adams is more likely to be another Ed Koch, trying to manage some of the chaos, making some headway, but unable to turn the city around. And that's the best case scenario. The likely one is that Adams gets clobbered by all sides and then finally brought down by a scandal. He's a charismatic retail politician who is way out of his depth and doesn't have Koch and Giuliani's micromanaging skills, just their egos.&nbsp;


	And ego, as we've seen repeatedly, isn't enough to run things if you don't know what you're doing.

There are<a href="https://archives.frontpagemag.com/point/france-gives-muslim-killer-elderly-jewish-woman-daniel-greenfield/"> obvious echoes </a>of the Sarah Halimi case.

		Sarah Lucy Halimi was thrown out of the window of the third-floor Paris apartment while she begged her Muslim killer to spare her life.

	
		The 66-year-old director of an Orthodox Jewish nursery was woken from her sleep when she was violently beaten by her twenty-something Muslim neighbor who then dragged her to the window.

	
		She died on the street outside the building where she had lived for thirty years.

	
		The 28-year-old Muslim man confessed to the killing and was heard shouting “Allahu Akbar” and calling Halimi “Satan” shortly before&nbsp;throwing her out the window&nbsp;of her three-story apartment.

	
		In January, Traore was determined to be fit to stand trial. He was placed in a psychiatric hospital for weeks after his arrest in the April 2017 killing despite having no history of mental illness.

	
		But a judge requested a second series of tests, which determined that the Malian immigrant was not able to stand trial,&nbsp;20 Minutes&nbsp;reported Wednesday.

	So there's a history of this sort of thing complete with a cover-up after the fact.


	This latest case involves a 90-year-old Jewish man in Lyon, France, who was<a href="https://www.tribunejuive.info/2022/05/20/sarah-cattan-mr-hadjaj-juif-de-90-ans-jete-par-la-fenetre-du-17-e-etage-par-son-voisin-musulman-chuuuuut/"> pushed out of the window </a>by his Muslim neighbor.

		A nonagenarian died Tuesday in Lyon, probably pushed into the void by one of his neighbors from the floor of a building&nbsp;, the prosecution said this morning.&nbsp;It appears from the first investigations carried out by the departmental security that this person would have been pushed into the void following an argument by one of his neighbors whom he used to frequent&nbsp;.

	
		A judicial investigation of the count of "voluntary homicide" has been opened.&nbsp;The “suspect” is remanded in custody.

	
		According to&nbsp;&nbsp;Le Progrès&nbsp;, the victim, who lived on the 2nd floor of a tall building, was pushed from a higher floor.

	
		The regional daily specifies that “the track of an anti-Semitic homicide was mentioned, before being excluded” and that the investigation is continuing.&nbsp;

	As it usually is. All Muslim terrorism is just "mental illness."


	The Tribune Juive paper notes that, "Kobili Traoré left the hospital today without having served a day in prison for having thrown Sarah Halimi out of the window after having lynched her."


	Even the JTA mentions that, "More recently, a Jewish man died in a suburb of Paris after running into the path of a passing tram while escaping a group of individuals on the street.&nbsp;The death of Jérémie Cohen in February was initially treated as an accident until his family recovered footage of the assault. The family gave the evidence to Éric Zemmour, a far-right French Jewish politician, who highlighted the case in his presidential campaign last month."

Despite the best efforts by the D.C. establishment and its judges, the Sussman trial is moving forward and with that comes <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2022/05/20/clinton-campaign-manager-denies-approving-passing-anti-trump-info-to-fbi-00034115">closer scrutiny</a> of the Clinton campaign.

		The manager of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential bid, Robby Mook, testified Friday that the campaign did not instruct or authorize a lawyer to go to the FBI with claims of a potential data link between then-candidate Donald Trump and a Russian bank owned by allies of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

	
		That lawyer — former Perkins Coie partner Michael Sussmann — is on trial in federal court in Washington on a felony false-statement charge brought by special counsel John Durham, who claims Sussmann lied to the FBI when he said he was not acting on behalf of any client in relaying indications and internet data stream between a Trump-related server and one for Moscow-based Alfa Bank.
</blockquote>


	That particular smear, both discredited and explosive, is not the one most people are familiar with, but has shown how far the Clinton campaign was willing to go.


	Mook is denying any connection to it. But here's the buried lede.

		Mook said he had no knowledge of Clinton approving Sussmann to go to the FBI with the server information on behalf of the campaign.

	
		“I don’t see why she would,” he said.
</blockquote>


	Having no knowledge is a different animal.

<blockquote>
	
		Mook confirmed that top campaign officials were aware of the Alfa Bank “secret server” allegations in the summer and fall of 2016, but said they favored handing them off to a reporter.

	
		“Going to the FBI does not seem like a very effective way to get that information out to the public. We do that through the media,” he said.

	
		Mook said that after discussions at the highest levels of the campaign, they decided to do just that. He also said that somewhere around that time he informed Clinton personally and she concurred.

	
		“I discussed it with Hillary as well,” Mook said. “She agreed to that. ... She thought we made the right decision.”
</blockquote>


	Seemingly, Hillary signed off on the media end of the smear campaign.


	But what Mook's really saying is that he was not in on the serious opposition research end of things anyway.

<blockquote>
	
		However, Mook said he didn’t know during the campaign a private investigation firm called Fusion GPS was doing opposition research for Hillary’s bid through the law firm.

	
		“I was not aware during the campaign of anyone they were engaging to do that work,” Mook said. “I did not know that they had been retained.”
</blockquote>


	If Mook is telling the truth, then he wasn't on that part&nbsp;of the loop anyway. But there's no reason to think that Hillary and her people weren't. So as a defense witness, Mook just serves the purpose of drawing a line between the campaign and its darker operations. That's the next step. The shadow campaign that spawned Russiagate.
