While looking for something else entirely, I came across this blast from the past.
It’s a parody song that I believe aired on Rush Limbaugh’s show back in the day, but I’m not too sure anyone would air it today. It involves appeasing Iran and as you can see, the more things change, the more they stay the same… and change. Considering that its starring figure is Ahmadinejad, the protagonist is dated, but the basic dillema is the same

Do we “talk to the terrorists”, “share their hopes and dreams” and see if “maybe we can find some common ground.”?
“If we could just talk to the terrorists
Show how nice we are
Find a way that we can all agree.”
“We can ask him what would make Iran less mad at us? Kill yourselves, that’ll do!”
Burton explained it all in the 1800s, their culture and our culture are incompatible.
