Matt Gaetz, the former congressman and Donald Trump’s first choice for attorney general, claims that Israel is trying to coax the U.S. into entering a regime-change war in the Middle East. Many who rally under the America-First banner, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), agree with him, although President Trump has stated in no uncertain terms that “AMERICA FIRST means many GREAT things, including the fact that, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
On his OAN show, Gaetz played a 2002 clip of Benjamin Netanyahu warning that Saddam Hussein was developing nuclear weapons and guaranteeing that the Middle East would be safer for everyone if Saddam were removed from power. Obviously Netanyahu was dangerously wrong about that, and no one has ever claimed that the Israeli prime minister was infallible, but Gaetz argued that Netanyahu led us down the primrose path into war with Iraq then, and now was doing the same thing with Iran.
Greene then added that Israel attacked Iran first; she appears unaware of or indifferent to the fact that Hamas, which began the conflict by brutally murdering 1,200 Israelis on Oct. 7, 2023, is a proxy of Iran, as are Hezbollah and the Houthis, the other principal groups waging jihad against Israel today.
One notable omission in Gaetz’s presentation was that far from departing from his America-First principles, Trump has been consistent for ten years about his determination to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons. In his very first speech as a politician, announcing his candidacy for president on June 16, 2015, Trump said: “I will stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons.”
Gaetz likewise ignored the fact that it isn’t just Netanyahu who claims that Iran is trying to get nuclear weapons. In a May 31, 2025 report, the UN nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), stated that “the significantly increased production and accumulation of highly enriched uranium by Iran, the only non-nuclear-weapon State to produce such nuclear material, is of serious concern.”
DW reported Sunday that according to the IAEA, Iran “has accumulated than 400 kilograms (881 pounds) of uranium enriched to 60%. That level of enrichment far exceeds what is needed for civilian energy production — and is close to weapons-grade material.”
The IAEA report also lamented the fact that Iran had stopped the IAEA from all of its monitoring activities inside the country. Why would a country that had nothing to hide and wasn’t developing nuclear weapons behave in such a manner, when it doesn’t take much thought to realize that this caginess only arouses suspicion that could get it embroiled in a global conflict?
The UN is no friend of Israel; item 7 of the UN Human Rights Council’s every meeting agenda focuses on the Jewish state’s alleged abuse of Palestinian Arabs. Why would an organization that is so hostile to Israel have its nuclear watchdog repeat propaganda favorable to Israel? It’s much more likely that the Iranian regime really is working toward getting nuclear weapons. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said that Iran’s nuclear program was an “existential threat” not just to Israel, but to Europe as well.
But is Iran a threat to the U.S.? It says it is. In a nationally televised address on Nov. 1, 2023, Ayatollah Khamenei declared: “The situation between America and Iran is this: When you chant ‘Death to America!’ it is not just a slogan – it is a policy.” It’s a longstanding policy, too: on Nov. 2, 2015, a commanding majority of the Majlis, 192 of its 290 members, agreed to the statement that “Death to America,” which continued to be chanted at every Friday prayer in Iranian mosques as well as at anti-American protests, had “turned into the symbol of the Islamic Republic and all struggling nations.”
On Sept. 23, 2015, two months after the Obama nuclear deal was finalized, Khamenei published an article entitled “The Idols Will Be Shattered,” illustrated with a drawing of the Statue of Liberty shattered in pieces. In it, he declared, “The idol of the soul, the idol of pride, [and] the idol of sexual lust; the idol of tyranny and subservience; the idol of global tyranny [that is, the U.S.]; the idol of sloth and irresponsibility; and the other idols that shame the precious human soul—a plan that will spring forth from the depths of the heart will shatter them.”
Americans would be naïve to dismiss all this as empty braggadocio. Iran’s nuclear enrichment demonstrates otherwise. The Iranian Islamic regime will keep on working toward the destruction of America unless it is stopped. It may be stopped soon.
When your enemy calls for your death, believe him. Especially if he’s a jihadi fanatic.
It’s unsettling that so many people on the right apparently are not all that concerned that Iran is close to developing a nuclear bomb. Trump and his advisors get it. Iran would use the bomb for a very short period of time, weeks or perhaps months, for intimidation purposes. Then it would actually be dropped on Israel. This is what Allah and The Prophet want.
They were close but not any more. Israel took out the Nantaz enrichment lab. .She took out the stockpiles of enriched uranium. Israel took out the underground lab making missiles. Iran is an impotent organ.
Well… the talk is… Israel and America will be after a regime change…

How could a Sunni govern Shiite Iran? I think Reza Pahlavi, the son of the Shah, could. The Shah and his father modernized Iran and made it great.
The shah didn’t do it he simply encouraged his people to do it and didn’t get in their way. There’s a lesson there for western governments.
Sunni Saudi Arabia and Shia Iran have hated each other for ever.. The Saudis made a peace agreement with Israel in 2017 brokered by Trump. The Saudis let Israel fly over their sovereign territory in a straight line to Iran to take out the underground bunkers..
Reza Pahlavi has on a number of occasions and in no uncertain terms denied that he wants to be the next Shah. That does not, however, mean that he would not support a monarchy under his cousin Patrick, who is next in the order of succession. (Since the succession can apparently only be male and Reza Pahlavi has only daughters, it cannot go to any of his children.) He has stated that Iran should become a secular democracy, and that it is up to the Iranian people to decide whether or not they want a figurehead king. Fine talk and quite palatable to his many American and Iranian-American listeners, but it is impossible to say what he would actually do if Iran were freed from its theocratic shackles and had to actually decide on the kind of government it was going to have.
Running away from the realities that have been going on in Iran against Americans won’t make it stop! Only the determined resolve to rid the world of this metastatic evil by preventing Iran from having even the remotest possibility of creating nuclear weapons is a clear path of victory for America, Israel and the world.
This is a critical time to muster bravery, courage and incisive and strategic responses to achieve our goals; not to drag the listless, dead dogs from yesterday into our present and future.
Sometimes we must fight because leaving Iran with the ability to make nuclear weapons is a guarantee they will make them and launch them at both Israel and the USA.

Gaetz, MTG and Tucker Carlson are against American defense against Iran. They want total capitulation to the terror state. They are also antisemites, and could not support Israel Israel even after October 7th. Tucker went all the way in actually supporting Hamss.

I was unaware that Tucker actually expressed support for Hamas? It’s almost amusing how the increasingly radical Left chooses to see MAGA as a a totally unified group of lockstep Nazis, when there actually is considerable dissention in the ranks, particularly on this issue.
Sometimes a regime change is necessary – like in Germany and Japan in 1945. Iran 2025 is no different.

President Bush cited British intel that Saddam Hussein had purchased yellowcake uranium from Niger. Joe Wilson’s subsequent trip to Niger was a CIA scheme to stop the Iraq war train by finding no evidence of the purchase. But US troops would later find 550 metric tons of yellowcake uranium at a former Iraqi army base south of Baghdad. It is still not known what was convoyed into Syria from Iraq, led by a Russian army general, in December 2002. But in 2007, Israel destroyed a secret nuclear plant in Syria.
The outing of Wilson’s wife Valerie Plame as a CIA agent was not, as portrayed by the Democrats, “retaliation” against Wilson by Bush. The leaker was a career State Department employee. Yet during James Comey’s confirmation hearing to be the Deputy Attorney General (DAG), Senator Charles Schumer urged him to appoint a special prosecutor. So Comey got AG Ashcroft to recuse himself on this matter and appointed his friend Patrick Fitzgerald. Though aware of the leaker’s identity, Fitzgerald indicted an innocent Cheney aide who was then convicted.
The same actors, Schumer and Comey, would whip up the Russia hoax in 2017, Schumer by allegedly getting Jeff Sessions to promise to recuse himself in exchange for being confirmed as Attorney General – so that DAG Rod Rosenstein could then appoint a special counsel (Robert Mueller) for an investigation led by the notoriously unethical Andrew Weissman.

In a world of hyphenated Americans, I would gladly go against Appalachians who have sex with their livestock (Masseie) or Mainers who lynch blacks (Tucker Carlson) or Muslims who murder every Jew they can (the ‘squad’) or social-climbing Japs (Hirono) or old unreconstructed rednecks (Jimmy Carter’s klan). I lived in Israel for 7 months. I got there on the 8th day of the Yom Kippur War 1973. I can tell you that God’s presence is felt there. I was an agnostic when I arrived, I left a BELIEVER.

Actually, there is no need for us to be involved “kinetically”; Israel is FULLY capable. I do believe they understand the challenge. If Iran wants a NUKE so bad, they should GIVE them one!! No need for a U.S. delivered MOP, when assurances of success are questionable. The area around Fordow is located is PERFECT for a “Nuke Test”, like Nevada, only more mountainous and further away from “civilization”. A “Mini-Tactical Nuke” would do the job perfectly! Israel has one (or two…)! USE IT!!
