For the umpteenth time, Trump has just said some “bizarre” things that, upon closer examination, turn out to be entirely reasonable.
As the establishment media is almost exclusively leftist, most reporters cover Donald Trump and his supporters as if they were strange alien beings. Tim Walz just boasted about his ability to “code talk” to white male voters who liked to watch football and fix their trucks themselves. And the oddest animal of all, as far as the media is concerned, is Trump himself. For one thing, he is a very funny man, and they are grim and humorless. As a man who loves America and Americans, his values are incomprehensible to them. And compounding the confusion is that he’s a good deal more intelligent than they give him credit for being, and so they often miss what exactly he is saying.
This happened again at the National Day of Prayer on Thursday. Having a president who openly endorses and encourages Christian piety baffles and infuriates leftist reporters, who are used to politicians such as Old Joe Biden.
In this as in so many ways, Biden was the exact opposite of Trump. While Trump’s public reputation, marital record, and more don’t give anyone the impression that he is a particularly religious man, he has taken repeated steps to strengthen the presence and influence of Christianity in American public life. Biden, on the other hand, was an ostentatious believer who paraded his piety before the world, but it was hollow; his regime acted directly against Christian values in all manner of ways.
And so AFP, among others, covered the National Day of Prayer as if they were writing a paper for anthropology class. Trump, according to AFP, was “surrounded by faith leaders calling for him to be given ‘divine dreams’ in an extraordinary event at the White House on Thursday.” The Times of India added that while there, Trump made “bizarre remarks” about his earlier meetings with Muslim leaders in Michigan who supported him during the 2024 presidential campaign.
Trump said of the Muslim leaders: “I love them. They were great. They said, ‘We don’t want to die.’ I said, ‘You want to die?’ They said, ‘We don’t want to die.’ I said, ‘What about the 38 virgins?’ They said, ‘That’s nonsense.’” The Times of India adds: “The line triggered predictable mockery online. ‘It’s 72 virgins, not 38,’ one X user deadpanned. ‘Trump’s math works in mysterious ways.’ Another joked that the number downgrade was the latest example of the president’s famed deal-making abilities—‘negotiating paradise down by 47%.’”
Yeah, that’s a good one. But overlooked amid all the banter and media chatter about the strangeness of the event was any consideration of what Trump was actually trying to do. Trump’s remarks here aren’t really “bizarre” at all.
When he asked the imams in Michigan if they wanted to die, he likely had in mind the Islamic jihadists’ oft-repeated desire for death. A Muslim child preacher once taunted those he has been taught to hate most: “Oh Zionists, we love death for the sake of Allah, just as much as you love life for the sake of Satan.” Jihad mass murderer Mohamed Merah said that he “loved death more than they loved life.” The late Nigerian jihadist Abubakar Shekau said: “I’m even longing for death, you vagabond.”
Former al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri’s wife advised Muslim women: “I advise you to raise your children in the cult of jihad and martyrdom and to instil in them a love for religion and death.” And as one jihadist put it, “We love death. You love your life!” And another: “The Americans love Pepsi-Cola, we love death.” That was from Afghan jihadist Maulana Inyadullah.
Of course, this idea comes from the Qur’an itself: “Say, O you who are Jews, if you claim that you are favored of Allah apart from mankind, then long for death if you are truthful.” — Qur’an 62:6
And as for the virgins, he likely has in mind the Qur’an’s promise of paradise to those who “kill and are killed” for Allah (9:111). He did, however, get the number wrong, as this hadith makes clear: “That the Messenger of Allah said: ‘There are six things with Allah for the martyr. He is forgiven with the first flow of blood (he suffers), he is shown his place in Paradise, he is protected from punishment in the grave, secured from the greatest terror, the crown of dignity is placed upon his head – and its gems are better than the world and what is in it – he is married to seventy two wives among Al-Huril-‘Ayn of Paradise, and he may intercede for seventy of his close relatives.’ [Abu ‘Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan [good] Sahih [reliable].” (Jami at-Tirmidhi 3.22.1663)
Trump was trying to determine whether they were moderates or jihadis. This was entirely reasonable, although his way of going about doing it was jocular, and as imperfect as any other effort to make this determination would be. And the issue of the sincerity of their responses is no small one. Nevertheless, Trump’s questions to the Muslim leaders were of the kind that ought to have been asked to many other Muslim leaders who were presumed to be moderate over the years. If they had been, there might not be so much confusion today over who and what exactly is a moderate, and whether such claims can ever be trusted at all.
Pretty sure it’s 72 virgins, but these days half of them are probably trannies.
You’re right, it is 72. But it isn’t virgins. Due to a misquotation years ago people believe martyrs get 72 virgins when the arrive in paradise, but what they actually get is a ’72 Vega.
On or off blocks?
If they prefer death, then I prefer their death too
If I lived in filth, poverty and 7th century ignorance like most of the world’s muslims do, and was ruled by a mafia-style government that allowed few civil rights, I’d “long’ for death, too.
The “virgins” they will meet is a mistranslation. It’s actually 72 Virginians……..Washington, Jefferson, Hamilton, etc.
Adjusted for inflation, it’s probably 120 virgins by now.
They’re virgins all right, but they’re also goats — male ones!
No need because the rewarded martyr who was promised poon in the sky when you die, has the virility of 100 men. 100 – 72 virgins leaves room for 28 boys.
There’s nothing moderate about a Muslim. If they aren’t engaged directly in jihad, they are bankrolling it.
All these subways and stores owned by Palestinians send. $ to hamas
Islam has no place in a civilized Nation! Simple as that! AND, if it’s ok for THEM to lie, cheat , steal, or murder because of their religion then it should be ok for US to do the same to them because of their “religion”!
I disagree. That wouldn’t be ok, it would lower us to their satanistic level. We are supposed to be better than that, and the Constitution is how.
Revenge is God’s. This is a battle between principalities and it’s my humble opinion that Jesus is going to snatch many Muslim hearts from the death grip of fundamental Islam. At least that’s what I pray for. ❤️
I agree with all you say, but not in the present context. Ecclesiastes 3: 1 – 8. There is a time to kill and there is a time for war.
The context is that we are being invaded by our enemies who desire our destruction and hate our religion, our people, our culture and our ways.
We have an effeminate government (surely a sign of God’s judgment upon (see Isaiah 3: 4 -5 and verse 12) and your solution is characteristic of what women do under threat. It works great in the home, but it is deadly for the nation.
Islam has no place here. It should be removed. The choice should be voluntary at first, and then with extreme prejudice for the hard core.
Kynarion, Isaiah ch. 3 has to do with Israel, no one else; that’s the context:
Isaiah 3:1 “…the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah…”
Isaiah 3:4 “…I will give children to be THEIR princes, and babes shall rule over them.”
I understand the point regarding the U.S. government and Islam. The U.S. today may be similar to the condition Israel was in just before Israel entered their 5th course of chastisement (Leviticus 26) with the Babylonian captivity, but that is all it might be, just a similarity.
God today is dispensing grace. Wrath and judgement will come, for certain, but that day has been postponed until this dispensation of grace is concluded.
2 Corinthians 5:19 “…God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”
Aside from our differences in eschatology, I am having trouble discerning what disagreement you have with my assertions. Do you believe we are not facing divine judgment because? If so, why?
Thank you for explaining, Matt.
We have a difference of opinion with regard to biblical interpretation that should not separate us as Christians. I get the sense that had I left out my bible references, you would have felt less compelled to respond?
Your interpretation is much more pacifist than mine, and, I believe, the result of infiltration of our churches by liberal (and satanic) ideologies. And before you are offended, please know that I also recognize my own mind’s colonization by that same spirit – and still battle to unshackle it from its influences.
Your Israelogy and eschatology (pre-millennial dispensationalism) are interpretations unknown until popularized in the U.S rather recently. I am not as dogmatic as you about eschatology or Israelolgy – but I used to be because dispensationalism is almost universally taught in the overwhelming majority of protestant churches in the U.S.
I do not have a firm eschatology, but I do have a strong ecclesiology. I believe there is only one people of God. They existed before the Hebrews (Abraham) or the Jews, or the Christians. I think of them simply as “believers” or “people of God” who compose a body of believing peoples from every time, tribe, tongue and nation. They are the fulfillment of the promise made to Abraham to be a father of many nations and a blessing to them.
I am intentionally not speaking of Israel’s role in this, but if you understand my pseudonym, you will see the Syro-Phoenician (Canaanite!) woman who begged Jesus to save her daughter even when He rebuffed her as being a dog and not of Israel. Our view of Israel does not save us. To me, it is an argument in this forum that serves only to distract from the one necessary thing about which you and I do agree.
Matt,
Again, I thank you for your patient and thorough replies to me. I would like you to watch a very short clip from Tucker Carlson’s interview with Andrew Isker. Pastor Isker’s writing and preaching led me to reject pre-millennial dispensationalism – which governed my view on eschatology until about 2 years ago.
You do not, of course, need to agree with me – but I would like you to consider the biblical grounds for alternative eschatologies – especially post millennialism. When I was introduced to postmillennialism, I thought it was wrong until I read or heard something that caused me to question the “four corners” of premillennialism.
Being the researcher and lover of truth that I am, I got to work understanding the opposing arguments and found them persuasive. I still have a heart for the Jews and do not believe in replacement theology. Ironically, when Jews become Christians, they almost always become postmillennial. There are some “heavy hitters” in the post-mil camp, also. This tiny little clip is a summary of why I became post millennial. I have been a bible-studying lover of Christ for all of my life and I am in my late 60’s. Here is the clip:

Yes, the saved Bible believer wants Muslims to be won to Christ, but the Muslim, and every person, has to hear or read the words of the gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Then hopefully they’ll think on it and then believe the gospel of God’s grace.
After that, perhaps they themselves will say they were snatched by the Lord, because they read and believed His word. But, that’s what it takes.
Ephesians 1:12-13 “…we…who first trusted in Christ.”
“…after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,”
So should we be happy for muslims to invade our Christian country eliminating the need to send missionaries to them? I thought the Great Commission said we were to GO FORTH into all the nations and proclaim the gospel to them. Did Israel invite all the Canaanites into their lands and worship?
Should we be thankful that our children’s future will be in their hands? Will not our wives, daughters and young boys become slaves, concubines and catamites in their households? This is common in their own cultures and they will re-create it here. People who share your attitude invite their contempt and our destruction.
“So should we be happy for muslims to invade our Christian country eliminating the need to send missionaries to them?”
No. But, if a saved bible believer comes in contact with one here, whether that Muslim is here legally or illegally, and if a Bible believer has the opportunity to give that Muslim the gospel of God’s grace, why wouldn’t the Bible believer do that? Bible believer’s are “ambassadors” of the God.of the Bible.
The so-called “Great Commission” will be (please note “will.be”) Israel’s commission once this dispensation of grace concludes and the prophetic program resumes. At that moment, ” the time of Jacob’s trouble” begins. The Great Commission does not belong to the body of Christ.
If the Bible believer has children, hopefully they’ll become saved Bible believer’s and will be ambassadors themselves. 1 Tim 2:4 says Gods will is that all men “be saved and come unto the knowledge.of the truth.”
If you are a saved Bible believer, that’s your commission wherever you find yourself.
But, of course, no one wants to live in tyranny under a dictatorship. However, a Bible believer is still an ambassador for Christ if tyranny and dictatorship comes. Your apostle Paul won several of Caesar’s household to the Lord while he was in bonds.
Kynarion, to answer your other question, my point was that Isaiah ch. 3 pertains to no nation today. No one is suppose to transfer what applied to Israel only and super impose it on any nation or event today. The church the body of Christ has not replaced Israel, nor has nation such as the U. S. God is still going to work out His purpose with Israel. God has a different purpose with the BOC. It is essential to differentiate between God’s program with Israel and His program with the BOC.
Isaiah ch. 3 pertained to Israel in “time past” at about the time of the Babylonian captivity. That captivity began Israel’s 5th course of punishment. Leviticus ch. 26, a critically important chapter, lays out God’s program with Israel under the Law. When the Lord Jesus Christ began His earthly ministry, to Israel, the 5th and last course of punishment was hundreds of years in already. The 70th week of Daniel is the last seven years of the 5th course.
However, the fulfilling of all that has been temporarily postponed. God today is not negatively judging individuals or nations. He offers grace and peace. But, it will last only so long, then the bottom will drop out.
Kynarion, I’m not as pacifist as you might think. If a Muslim, or anyone, is not suppose to be here, then let them be deported, even if they had just trusted Christ as their Saviour. My only point is if the saved Bible believer has contact with the Muslim, or any illegal alien, and there is opportunity, why wouldn’t the Bible believer try to win the Muslim to Christ?
“…more pacifist than mine, and, I believe, the result of infiltration of our churches by liberal (and satanic) ideologies.”
Well, I suppose I already addressed that, but I’ll just add that the circle of pre millennial dispensational Bible believer’s I fellowship with, believe in strong laws and the right to defend oneself and the right and imperative for a nation to defend itself. Liberal? Definitely not. However, it’s about making differences and distinctions; such as the grace and peace and salvation God offers to every man and woman on the planet and the responsibility of government to wield the sword responsibly.
“I believe there is only one people of God. They existed before the Hebrews (Abraham) or the Jews…”
That’s not correct. By Genesis ch..12, God permitted all the people on the earth to go their own way (to the god of this world). Romans ch. 1 describes the situation as it was in Genesis 10 and 11. So God made His own nation (Israel) to show the world what a nation under the God of the universe looks like:
Deuteronomy 4:7-8 “For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?”
As far as “the Syro-Phoenician (Canaanite!) woman” she was finally answered because she acknowledged her place under Israel.
“Our view of Israel does not save us.” No, it doesn’t, but it is extremely important to understand God’s program with them. Not understanding His program with them has killed a few or more people, such as some snake handler’s, and I’m not trying to be funny.
“To me, it is an argument in this forum that serves only to distract…” Hopefully, its not an argument. I needed to to be shown the word rightly divided. I was Catholic, then took a typical Acts 2 position, and thankfully moved to the correct position, which is Acts 9 and the apostle Paul. There’s nothing more important for the bible believer than to get this matter right.
Play around with your children’s lives not mine with your sanctimonious ideals- spend some time in their world and you’ll see why
Consider, “God helps those who help themselves.” Muslims are becoming apostates and that does include converting to Christianity, but there are also conversions in. Self defense is required.
You just explained, very clearly, why we should not be in any negotiations with Iran re: nukes. We need to wipe out every aspect of their nuke program along with the IRGC, or farm it out to the Israelis, with our blessing.
Watch how every scumbag terrorist group withers and dies once we take care of this endless problem.
If it’s the bullshit, useless negotiations that Bush43 engaged in; you’re right.
The “Death to America” cult strung Bush along while building towards nukes as they could.
Same happened with North Korea when shithead Jimmy Carter took it upon himself to initiate talks.
That annoyed Clnton, but he dutifully gave the store away. (Clinton trusted their bulshit, never bothering to verify.)
If Trump’s version of negotiation is “making them an offer they can’t refuse”, then there’s merit to it.
(It certainly won’t involve sending pallets of cold-hard cash in the dead of night.)
Muslims are dirty in the same manner as old fashioned carbon paper: those who cozy up to them will find that the dirt has rubbed off on them.
It doesn’t help that the filth of Muslims has that horrible smell …
That indicates there is now a filth column in America.
No matter what President Trump ever says to Muslims – he will not
hesitate to kill jihadists. Recall that in his first term he had the Muslim
terrorist Solemaini assassinated – turned ISIS into vapors of steam
with the MOAB – and destroyed their Caliph and caliphate.
As for Trump’s banter with Muslim leaders in Michigan who supported
him during the 2024 presidential campaign – it doesn’t matter if they
revealed themselves as moderate or jihadist. They readily use Tacquiya
in interactions with infidels so what they ‘say’ to us isn’t revealing. With
whom they associate and what they ‘do’ to infidels will tell us for sure
who they are.
Good point.
Under B. Hussein, the Rules of Engagement all but coddled & enabled our enemies. They relegated our troops to acting as targets – resulting directly to the deaths of many Seal Team Six members.
Under Jug-eared Barry, driving munitions trucks was untouchable.
Under Trump, driving munitions trucks became a death sentence.
David Ray – Yep. I remember that very well and it used to
make me sick. I also remember the “green on blue” attacks on
our troops which proliferated under B. Hussein – where American
troops were killed by Afghan security personnel whom they were
training. For example, one month there’d be 35 of our soldiers
individually murdered; another month there’d be 40.
Nevertheless, Obama said the American military must continue
training those Afghans to take over security when the U.S. was
slated to withdraw by 2014. Well, we never withdrew until- and
tragically – 2021 under Big Guy Biden at which point the Afghan
security forces totally collapsed and the Taliban took over.
Auto-pen Biden and his handlers. Thank God those scumbags are gone. I can afford to buy eggs and fill up my gas tank now, and I don’t have to worry about Antifa, BLM or some jihadis burning my building down. Not much, anyway.
I would love to punch the age spots off Baldy Biden’s head but I guess that would be illegal.
Why illegal? It wouldn’t lower his IQ, just his height. It wouldn’t affect the direction he would walk or fall. The only question is, would it also at the same time alter the appearance of jeff Dunham’s Walter.
They think that if the blow themselves up surrounded by Jews and Christians they will go to Paradise with 38 Virgins and instead end up in a Lake of Brimstone and Fire where the Fire is Never Quenched
If the ackbarbarians love death more than we love life, I see a win-win.
I’m probably going to get thrown overboard for this but there are a lot of Muslims who are as good as any other American. You see the ones who are not afraid to speak out on Fox, Newsmax and on conservative blogs. This should be recognized as it would strengthen their hands. Furthermore, if someone would liberate Persia/Iran I think that would open a rich new vein.
Problem is that they are too few.
Ami Horowitz interviewed 28 Somali young men. All 28 said they’d willingly inflict jihad if called. (A 100% sampling.)
Hence, “no go zones” begin to appear once they have the numbers . . . just as in Malmo, Sweden & many other places in Europe. (Two acts of graffiti/vandalism happen twice a day in Germany & France; Notre Dame being the worst.)
They’re attempting to break ground on one here in Texas. An exclusive muslim community today; a “no go zone” tomorrow.
Another thing that those who know little or nothing about Islam must understand is that the existence of a mosque in infidel lands (our own country being an obvious example), is in effect a beachhead -“rabat” in Arabic – denoting that the property on which the mosque is built is now a Muslim *waqf,* i.e. legally belonging to Islam in perpetuity, as per Sharia. This remains the case even if the mosque is abandoned, repurposed, or demolished. This is one way by which Islam/Muslims expand their territory at the expense of infidels. The proposed development in Plano, Texas – EPIC city – which would be a community for Muslims exclusively, if allowed to go forward, will effectively be another Muslim beachhead, and an enormous one at that. It must be stopped.
Ray gets it. They use our niceness against us. We can’t afford to be nice to muslims, especially muslim organizations.
My wife and I visited Houston & DFW for the first time last month. We had never set foot in Texas other than change planes a few times at GW & DFW airports. We had a great time in both cities and were impressed with the warmth of the locals. We had known that many Texans take pride in living in the state & are proud Texans. The week in Texas made us quite aware of Texan pride in many ways, something we have not encountered in the many other states we have visited. My question is how have proud Texans allowed Muslims to establish such a significant presence in the state? I know Gov. Abbott is against the proposed EPIC City development and no doubt many Texans are against it as well. My question is how such a project is even discussed in the first place in Texas. Islam is profoundly inimical to everything Texas stands for not to mention the US. If Islam can establish a significant and material presence in Texas then we are doomed. The West generally is doomed as well.
Rip N Read – The core of the Koran – of Muslim beliefs – is domination
and subjugation of Jews, Christians and infidels (non-Muslims). Any
Muslim who rejects that is rejecting the biggest part of his or her
religion. So then, why bother to be a Muslim?
These “good” Muslims you’re talking about – even the ones in Iran who
disdain their theocratic autocratic leaders but still strongly adhere to
Islam – must always choose between totalitarian Islam or individual
freedom. They can’t simultaneously believe in both otherwise they are
fence riders – and not to be trusted. Not to mention that using Tacquiya
is always another ardent Muslim belief.
“Moderates” are apostates in the Muslim “religion”. (It’s a military campaign, not a religion.) Look at any conflict involving Muslims where “moderates” were advising restraint. The French Algeria War, the British mandate under the Mufti of Jerusalem, the fate of Egypt’s Anwar Sadat. Each time, Islamists simply murdered the moderates. Islam has no debate chamber, no parliament, no Congress. It has violence and submission. That’s it.
If having to deal with the Left and the media in America and the rest of the world, we have to deal with Islam, which is dedicated to our destruction. Ask a Muslim what their goal is. Domination. It’s in the Qur’an and Muslims believe it is their destiny. We must stand resolute with our values
What does AFP represent?
Agence France-Presse, which is a French news service, akin to the Associated Press.
When I was in the Foreign Service, we used to say 72 Virginians.
It’s pointless asking a Muslim any question and expecting truth because it’s perfectly fine to lie to advance the cause of Islam or to hide your intentions. It’s called Taqiyya, of which you full well know, Robert.
Is a moderate Christian one who does not believe his Bible? If not, then where do we find moderate Muslims? The problem isn’t any particular Muslim, it’s the Koran.
Where are you going to get 38 virgins from ??
98% of the young islamic girls are raped when they’re nine & pregnant by the time they’re twelve ..
The houris number 72 for the martyr. They are perpetual virgins. After each day of service, they are virgins again the next day. The religion just offers warriors the right to attack women on earth and if martyred a cathouse after death. That pirate framework attracts adherents.
