The media has a compelling new narrative
Kansas City was once a hub for federal workers—but now it’s overrun with pain from DOGE cuts. ‘The poor will become even more poor now’ – Fortune

Federal worker’s 28-year career ends following cuts in Kansas City – AP News
I don’t know how many people in Missouri are really crying for Kansas City. Or its federal workforce.
Missouri voted for Trump. KC voted for Kamala.
With nearly 30,000 workers, the federal government is the largest employer in the region. One longtime Kansas City economic researcher said he believes the region could lose 6,000 good-paying federal jobs, which in turn would wipe out thousands of others in service industries.
Those 30,000 workers have their salaries paid for by taxpayers. They’re a net drain on the country.
The fact that the feds are the biggest employer in Kansas City is not a recommendation for either KC or the feds. It just means that it’s a failed city being subsidized by taxpayers.
Interesting coverage. Thanks Daniel !!!
Interesting coverage!!! The fact that someone’s salary is funded by taxpayers does not mean they are “a net drain of the country.” This is a statement that needs to be properly considered and supported. But you have no interest in doing either. Thanks, Daniel!!!
Dickporn! What’s up, buddy? Sorry but no, government employees are parasites who suck the blood from the ball sweat of real Americans.
I know this will come as a shock to you, but government employees ARE all a drain on the country because government is not a productive organization – it is force. Some government is necessary, true, but all government is an economic drain and the monstrous behemoth we have today is completely unsupportable (see the deficit spending that will destroy us unless it is eliminated with spending cuts).
Mickey Micky Mickey! The Kremlin called. Your copy of Stalin’s signed picture is framed and ready to ship to you.
Yes, I’ve been to KC a bunch of times. I like the decrepit old airport but hate the city. I would go to this brew pub in the airport in between flights (you know how long you have to wait most times) and I would always run into old chicks who’d just come back from cruise ship ventures. They were always so nice!
They wouldn’t seem old to me now but I was a middle manager barely into my thirties back then.
Canberra, Australia’s capital city, has the highest median income in the country at over AUD72k.
It has a population of around 482,000 and close to a quarter of that entire population is employed by either the Federal or ACT public service.
In addition there are tens of thousands of contractors and consultants who do no other work than that which they do for either the Federal or Territory Public Services.
This is parasitism of the finest water.
Any city that relies on public servants as the main source of employment is a sick, parasitic environment.
When Democ-rat policies deliberately decimated the coal mining industry, Joe Bite-Me (D-Delaware) famously advised those unemployed by Democ-rat malice to “learn to code computers.” What goes around comes around. A necessary government reduction in force has now resulted in the massive layoff of government employees (virtually all Democ-rat voters) in Kansas City, Missouri. Surely, Joe Bite-Me or whoever speaks for Democ-rats these days will advise their unemployed Kansas City constituency to learn to code computers. What’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander–right?
A warning to Republican states; Many residents of KCMO have moved over the border to Johnson Co. Kansas and turned it into a leftist stronghold. It used to be represented by Conservatives but not now. Even City and County governments are going more left. It has resulted in more leftist policies being implemented, such as “Climate Change” etc. During Covid the Commission Chairman even suggested having Police crack down on “non-compliance’ of rules because few were abiding by them. Fortunately the State is highly Republican and thwarted much of the leftist agenda.
