The Dems and their media keep promising that they’re “vetting” refugees.
Here’s CNN’s “fact check“.
CNN – Fact check: Afghans coming to US are not ‘unvetted refugees’
Facts First: It’s misleading to suggest that Afghan refugees who are coming to the US following the Taliban’s takeover are not being vetted. Intelligence, law enforcement, and counterterrorism professionals are conducting security screenings for all Afghans permitted to enter the US. And according to officials and experts, evacuated Afghans are being vetted sometimes more than once — both before leaving Afghanistan and in transit countries where they’re taken ahead of arriving in the US.
President Joe Biden emphasized Sunday that “Anyone arriving in the United States will have undergone a background check.”
Facts first!
As Adam Kredo at Free Beacon notes, “more than 20 percent of those who arrived in Doha and were later brought into the United States—around 12,000 individuals—had no identification, paperwork, or visas.”
“They came with nothing,” Issa said. “No Afghan I.D., no I.D. of any sorts. Those people were all forwarded on to the U.S., and that’s quite an admission. So many people had no I.D. whatsoever and yet find themselves in the United States today based on what they said.”
How do you vet people who have no ID? (Not that an Afghan ID was worth much to begin with.)
That’s why the Biden admin and its media were touting “biometrics”. Biometrics can’t prove a negative though. All it can do is determine if someone’s biometrics were already in the database and had been linked to terrorism. Without that, there’s nothing. Some personnel who worked for the U.S. would be in the system and biometrics could be used to verify that those are the same people. But considering how many bad people ended up working for the U.S., that’s not much of a recommendation. (Never mind the 3% error rate.)
That’s Biden’s background check.
12,000 Afghans with no IDs brought to America.
