Leftist policies start out seemingly reasonable and compassionate before they become totally monstrous. Initially, there are sympathetic test cases, they started out with arguing that raped 12-year-olds should be able to get an abortion, and then before you know, it’s partial-birth abortion for bored celebrities. Euthanasia was supposed to help those with fatal illnesses suffering a great deal of pain. And then, in typical fashion, it morphed into killing teenagers and the depressed.
Where to in the Great North? How about killing the homeless and the poor?
Half of Canadians would agree to allow adults in Canada to seek medical assistance in dying due to an inability to receive medical treatment (51%) or a disability (50%). Fewer than three-in-ten would consent to expand the guidelines to include homelessness (28%) or poverty (27%) as reasons to seek medical assistance in dying.
Canadians are split when pondering if mental illness should be a justification for an adult to seek medical assistance in dying: 43% support this idea, while 45% are opposed.
That’s 1 in 4 on board with euthanasia for the poor and the homeless. Among the 18-34 crowd, it’s 40%.
And that means that this is the next bar. The conservatives will die off or be killed, leaving an exciting new electorate that has come around that the solution to a lot of problems might lie in killing inconvenient people.

My reaction was, it was the young who were most in favor. Typical, in that they don’t think ahead, don’t see it happening to them. Being young and healthy, they project that outwards, and don’t see the disasters looming all around them.

I think you may have something there AA but young people should feel bold and invincible. This is the correct mindset for young people and a vigorous culture. Unfortunately we did not see this much during Covid. What we saw was a bunch of green saps compulsively washing their hands every 2 minutes and getting shots almost as frequently. Sad to say this was not entirely even a selfless act in most cases. It was motivated by real phobia.

That would certainly promote a better work ethic along with putting the proverbial boot to the backside of the lazy. What is the financial cutoff point that separates the poor from the not so poor? It is like keep a minimum balance in your bank account to keep from being fined or in this case being euthanized. Is there any way that Canada and the United States can screw up any more than they already have? Is that even possible?
Ok so what have the older generation of people (40+) done for the future generations of young people in Chinada? What kind of society leaves behind for their children an affordability crisis, a housing crisis, an opioid crisis, a climate crisis, a failing electoral system, a failing health care system and a democracy transformed into a hypocrisy by allowing the ultra wealthy and elite corrupt our politicians and roll in totalitarianism? I think it’s time the people of Chinada consider the fact that our society has failed our own children. We have collectively set our children up for future failure. They don’t stand a chance at surviving the mess the older generation is leaving behind. I don’t blame younger people for wanting to support the legal suicide of every single person over the age of 40 in this country. So before the sheeple of Chinada wrongly assume that younger generation of people haven’t thought ahead maybe try and think about what you could have done better to support our children’s future.

Of courses the problem with this euthanasia deal is that it’s still largely on a voluntary basis. That could be mitigated to some degree with the usual coordinated MSM barrage and military innovated psyops campaigns(already big in UK and Canada) to generate enthusiasm in the general population and the required volunteer rate.
There’s that and introducing depression inducing pharmaceuticals into the water supply. Sometimes people can use a little help in decision making. And we all know the most sincere charity is anonymous, so there’s no advantage is blabbing out loud in this regard.

An idea with possibilities. Just think if we eliminated everyone on public assistance how different things would be.
Lets start by all the people in favor are first.
Everyone has a worldview based on their beliefs. For instance if you believe in God and you believe that the Bible is God’s Word. You can understand God’s position about the poor, the fatherless, the downtrodden. You are aware of His commandments. The consequences of sin. God’s judgement, God’s justice, God’s love and His sacrifice for us.. His Word constrains us to consider the welfare and suffering of others and to show them mercy as God has shown us mercy and forgiveness. If you are Godless in your beliefs, people exist for their utilitarian value to society. There is no life after death, no judgement, no accounting to a God that for them does not exist. No right, or wrong, just the survivals of the fit and the extinction of the unfit. This is the worldview of the godless, the loveless, and the selfish. Pretty much hell on earth, only the real hell is in the life hereafter and it is too horrible to consider.
On the other hand if you truly, completely, and thoroughly-seriously believe in Original Sin, the Fall Of Man, and that we are here on earth only temporarily to seek salvation through atonement and self-sacrifice for God and neighbor, and the real goal is eternal life after you’re dead in an after-life utopia, AND that all sins can be forgiven by an omnipotent God, and he can repair all evils and all harm, and raise the dead in the after-life…
then why would you take this life on earth seriously? Why would you take sin seriously? Why would you take death and mortality seriously? The fact is you wouldn’t, not if you took all of it literally and completely seriously. And that was precisely what led to the Dark Ages, men gave up on this life on earth because ultimately it wasn’t real or important, the eternal after-life was.
I can’t say I entirely disagree.
I have no use for addicts. None at all. If you don’t feel the same it’s because you’ve never had to deal with them. You can’t help them. Even if you get one off drugs for a few minutes, they won’t make it. There is simply something broken inside them that can’t be fixed. I seriously doubt their minds were broken by the drugs and more likely the drug use is a side effect of an already broken mind.
I also think Canada should be annexed and turned into a theme park. And the leafs should be catapulted to the Eurosocialist hole of their choice. Or Euthanized…
I am grateful to a loving G0d that I have never had to live with an addict, but I have known a few who, with great effort fueled by their own desire to get well, have overcome their addictions and lived long, productive, happy lives. So there is hope for some.
