This is no longer a national issue.
President Trump did his part. This is a local issue. It’s an obvious failure by Republican governors. The solution is for local activists to hold them accountable.
According to an executive order signed Sept. 26, 2019, states have until Jan. 21, 2020 to provide written consent for resettlement programs to be in effect on their territory. As of Dec. 28, according to the State Department, 33 states had requested refugee-resettlement programs, 15 of them run by Republican governors:
Arizona (Doug Ducey)
Arkansas (Asa Hutchinson)
Indiana (Eric Holcomb)
Iowa (governor: Kim Reynolds)
Massachusetts (Charlie Baker)
Nebraska (Pete Ricketts)
New Hampshire (Chris Sununu)
North Dakota (Doug Burgum)
Ohio (Mike DeWine)
Oklahoma (Kevin Stitt)
South Dakota (Kristi Noem)
Tennessee (Bill Lee)
Utah (Gary Herbert)
Vermont (Phil Scott)
West Virginia (Jim Justice)
Hogan has also come out in favor of resettlement.
If you can’t block the invasion in West Virginia, where can you block it?
In a letter Friday consenting to resettlement, the Republican governor wrote that refugees are vetted and approved by the appropriate federal agencies. He said that they have become productive citizens and are welcomed into the West Virginia family.
He lauded the “great success” West Virginia has enjoyed with its refugee resettlement agency since it started operating in 1978.
The White House has tried to do its part. It’s now up to local activists to protect their states.
The bottom line is that this is about the money. Refugee resettlement is a profitable racket. Local activists have to take the lead in holding elected officials accountable. Otherwise the special interests will keep the mass migration rolling over America.
