There are two basic types of states in the Sunni Muslim world.
1. Nations
2. Kingdoms
Nations are pseudo-modern efforts to create modern nation states. Many were at one point more secular, often adopting some form of socialism, and used European knowledge to build up functional armies. They tend to have some form of elections and emphasize nationalism even though they’ve usually reverted to Islamism. Examples include Turkey, Egypt and Pakistan.
Kingdoms never pretended to be modern. They’re dominated by a monarchy built around a clan or a handful of clans. They’re unable to form much in the way of civilized infrastructures and their armies are expensive white elephants run by the decadent members of the clan. They tend to be strongly Islamic, at least in public (in private they’re as decadent as can be) and derive their power from some sort of bargain with Jihadis and their vast oil wealth. Examples include Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar.
Islamic nations are bad news, Islamic kingdoms are much worse ones. The kingdoms have vast amounts of wealth and no strong means of self-defense. They can’t built up an independent functional military out of fear that, like Egypt’s last king, they’ll be overthrown, so the United States becomes their military.
They derive influence from ‘soft power’. That means they use their money to buy as much influence in D.C. as possible. And they balance that out by also financing Islamic terrorism against us. This system of checks and balances is what led to 9/11 and a lot of the global terrorism and Islamist takeovers.
They use money and terrorism to gain leverage over us. No matter how many diplomatic visits happen and no matter what gifts they hand out, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and their allies are our enemies.
They’re our enemies because despite the front they put up, they fear us and hate us. They’re our enemies because they derive their legitimacy within the Muslim world by pretending to be “protectors” of Islam, its Sharia law and its ‘holy’ shrines and cities. Those beliefs command them to be at war with us. Since they also need us to protect them against countries with actual armies (see, Iraq War), they have to counterbalance this dependency on the infidels by also financing terrorism against us. And rather than turning our governments against them, Islamic terrorism has made us more dependent on them.
The kingdoms claim that they can help us stop terrorism as long as we do what they say. Like turning on India and Israel. Like banning Koran burning and any sort of blasphemy. But it’s all a lie.
Nothing we do can change the hostility that burns in them because of their history, their beliefs and their religion… and worst of all, their need for us.
No American administration or non-Muslim state should ever be fooled into thinking that they have good relations with the Saudis, Qataris or their ilk. These are slave societies that traffic in non-Muslim women, that made their vast wealth from nationalizing our oil companies, and that sit about idly sending cryptocurrency to Islamic terrorists. They buy up our universities, our politicians and as much of our resources, real estate and human capital as they can. They built mosques to Islamize us.
They are at war with us. Any politician who hasn’t learned the lessons of the last quarter century and still doesn’t understand that needs to wake up.
Fast.
“Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Muslim Terrorist States Are Not Our Friends.”
And yet all of them publicly kissed President Trump’s ass last week.
Jeff, I think you got the “ass” and “kiss” correct but it occurred in the opposite direction. Sad to say. And may be why Daniel wrote this article…..(IDK, ask him).
They are masters of deception. One of my favorite examples which is almost comical, are the TV commercials for Emirate Airlines. Stewardesses dressed exactly like their non-Muslim counterparts, and serving drinks too.
KLM, Dutch Royal Airlines, is far and away the best I’ve ever flown on. Even the food was great! And it gave the choice of Western food and Indonesian food on the flight to Indo-Land. The food was even better than the local stuff in Indo-Land and it had the added benefit of no big green shit flies all over it.
Cathay Pacific is a good airline too.
I’m ashamed to admit that EVERY American airline sucks. Fuck, even the Mexican ones are much better, and Mexico sucks!
Exactly! The “‘relgion’ of peace” is only at peace once they achieve the Caliphate. Otherwise, they are at war with non believers, as commanded by their so-called holy book. Why the West refuses to understand this is beyond me. Our willful ignorance is sealing our fate.
I knew a lot of chemical engineers who worked in the Middle East back in the 1950s when we still owned the oil. Then the countries there “nationalized” our oil (stole it in other words). It has all been downhill since then. Gave them too much financial power.
On the other hand, our feckless governments didn’t do anything to stop them from stealing our oil.
One of the most sickening politicians is Sen. Marshall from Kansas. Has anyone defended Qatar better.
Have to think of everything in terms of the Treaty of Hudaibiya. When necessary they’ll sign a treaty knowing that they will only honour it as long as it helps them survive and grow stronger. As soon as the advantage swings they will turf it and claim that it is proper in islam. And no doubt it is. Arafat said the same thing about the Camp David Summit. Just a worthless piece of paper. Launched the 2nd Intifada right after.
So all non-muslims must consider any treaty completely temporary and like the 6 day war be ready for a pre-emptive strike, and not worry about it. Just quote the above treaty.
