I was a Catholic, Mr. Glazov, and you don’t need to be one. You seem to understand that the Lord Jesus Christ died and paid for all your sins. And He did. If you believed and trusted Christ exclusively, then all your sins, past, present and future, are forgiven. You’re a saint now, seated in heavenly places.
I say you don’t need to be Catholic because Catholicism has their members under the law (a plagurized Judaism). You’re under the law, or at risk of being under the law in that system. In this case being under the law means keeping a short account system of your sins and confessing them for forgiveness. (And partaking of the sacraments.) God, through your apostle, Paul, said:
Galatians 3:3 “Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?”. And:
Galatians 2:21 “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”
And, as far as Peter is concerned, he was not the first pope. Peter was given the “keys to the kingdom,” but that was as an apostle to Israel. When Peter is resurrected, he, along with the other eleven, will judge the 12 tribes of Israel (Matt. 19:28). He will not be anywhere near Rome. I pray you will consider these things. The saved person simply needs to be a Bible believing saint, intelligently understanding the word rightly divided (2 Tim. 2:15).
