Jerusalem, the city asleep behind its feudal walls, pierced with loopholes,
Jerusalem, the city of gold, the city of domes and cathedrals whose steeples boldly point to the sky,
Jerusalem and its giant stones that reveal the foundations of its two ancient temples, twice destroyed,
Jerusalem and its tables of the law set in the oblong chest made of acacia wood covered with gold surmounted by two cherubs – gone forever,
Jerusalem, with its winding, narrow streets, filled with holiness fragrance, haunted in perpetuity with spirals of murmured prayers,
Jerusalem and the sound of the Shofar as a holy summon to awaken from their sleep those who pray for redemption,
Jerusalem with its golden sunsets, its hills and valleys, from which one can hear the shattering encounter of swords and shields, the haunting catapults against its walls, swapped over the years by the shrill whistle of firearms detonation,
Jerusalem, whose approach lets us discover the rusty command cars’ carcasses that once participated in its liberation,
Jerusalem, the heights chosen by King Solomon to build a temple for GOD, the closest to heaven,
Jerusalem must rally hearts to become the center where all the peoples can mingle, talk about their faith, their miracles, their friendship, their peace, and love,
Jerusalem is not just any city, holy land, or a place of prayer. It bears in its very name its destiny: JERUSALEM, IR HASHALOM – The City of PEACE.

If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, Let my right hand forget her skill. Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth, If I remember thee not; If I prefer not Jerusalem Above my chief joy. While the store Martizpan still has the best arugulak warm from their oven.

Very good editorial and well said. Jerusalem is where God placed his Holy name., he loves this city and this land, it’s part of the Covenant he made with Abraham, and he has not forgotten it. The city belongs to God as well as the Jewish people and culture, thats why they say “Next year in Jerusalem.” It is unique, beautiful, and biblically part of God’s plan. The prophet ZECHARIAH in chapter 12. The oracle of the word of the Lord Concerning Israel.: Thus declares the Lord, who stretched out the heavens and founded the earth and formed the spirit of man within him: “Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem a cup of staggering to all surrounding peoples. The siege of Jerusalem, (which we have seen so many times in history). will also be against Judah. On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all peoples. All who lift it will surely hurt themselves. And all nations of the earth will gather against it.
God will never forget his people, but they will go through hard times and troubles before he comes back to redeem his people. Verse 9 says, And on that day I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem, and the House of David shall be like God, like the angel of the Lord, going before them.
