Last week, ADL had a webinar with Rabbi Shira Stutman, who was senior Rabbi at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue in Washington, DC until June, 2021.
She is also on the J Street rabbinic cabinet.
She also accused Israel of “ethnic cleansing.”
During a May, 2021 Shabbat service at Sixth & I, streamed live on Facebook, Rabbi Shira Stutman accused Israel of “ethnic cleansing.”
Audience members were outraged. One member of the Sixth & I Board resigned after the Board refused to condemn Stutman.
In Jan. 2020, as the senior Rabbi at @SixthandI, Rabbi Shira Stutman invited anti-Zionist Peter Beinart and journalist Wajahat Ali for a “conversation” at her synagogue. In 2019, Ali accused the “Israel lobby” of promoting Islamophobia in the US.
In 2019, on Israel’s Memorial Day to honor Israelis who died defending Israel, Rabbi Stutman held an “Israeli-Palestinian Memorial Day Ceremony,” sponsored by the anti-Israel NGO New Israel Fund, to also honor Palestinians who tried to murder Israelis.
“Rabbi” should be in quotation marks. But should “Jewish civil rights group” when discussing the ADL.
Shira Stutman also promoted the antisemitic Women’s March, and even built programming around it. She’s a signatory to any number of anti-Israel letters including one whose signatories describe themselves as affiliated with the anti-Israel group T’ruah.
The ADL knew this and chose to bring her in anyway.
