The dying days of the French monarchy had nothing on the sheer level of corruption and contempt of the current ruling class. Satire is dead. The political class makes its own satire, not the ruling class propaganda meets high school talent show antics of Saturday Night Live, but the real stuff.
Stuff you couldn’t even begin to make up.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo will receive an Emmy Award for his response and leadership in the effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 in New York State.
Cuomo will receive the International Emmy Founders Award, which is presented to an individual or organization who, “crosses cultural boundaries to touch our common humanity.”
“The Governor’s 111 daily briefings worked so well because he effectively created television shows, with characters, plot lines, and stories of success and failure,” said International Academy President & CEO, Bruce L. Paisner.
This is well… on the nose.
Cuomo created plot lines, complete with villains, like Orthodox Jews, while killing thousands of senior citizens and millions of jobs, and then cashed in on a memoir. None of this was real, much like the stuff of Emmy awards, it was fiction.
And Bruce is all but saying it out loud.
But here’s what Bruce isn’t saying. While Cuomo blamed Orthodox Jews for the spread of the virus, New York bent over backward for the entertainment industry, allowing it to hold award shows, flout the rules, and have celebrities go in and out without having to quarantine.
One of the more obvious abuses was Saturday Night Live, which was allowed to hold its Democrat campaign rallies by paying audience members $150 so they counted as employees, even while Cuomo’s minions were harassing religious schools.
And now the industry would like to think Cuomo with an Emmy.
Meanwhile, 11,000 dead senior citizens, after Cuomo forced nursing homes to accept coronavirus patients, could not be reached for comment.
