Gov. Ducey in Arizona and Gov. Abbott in Texas had been sending buses of illegal aliens to D.C.
Mayor Eric Adams of New York City decided to get in on the act by complaining that Texas was sending buses of illegal aliens to his city, which the Lone Star State wasn’t doing, the Biden administration was doing that.
“Currently, New York City is experiencing a marked increase in the number of asylum seekers who are arriving from Latin America and other regions. In some instances, families are arriving on buses sent by the Texas and Arizona governments, while in other cases, it appears that individuals are being sent by the federal government,” Adams said in a statement, adding that more than 2,800 asylum seekers had entered the shelter system in recent weeks.
There were no such buses, but now there are.
The first busload of illegal migrants from Texas has been dropped off in New York City.
Roughly 50 migrants arrived at a Port Authority in New York City on Friday. They were greeted and brought into the custody of non-governmental charity workers and volunteers.
The bus of illegal migrants was sent by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who has been shipping border-crossers into liberal cities to bring attention to the issue of illegal immigration in his own state.
“In addition to Washington, D.C., New York City is the ideal destination for these migrants, who can receive the abundance of city services and housing that Mayor Eric Adams has boasted about within the sanctuary city,” said Abbott. “I hope he follows through on his promise of welcoming all migrants with open arms so that our overrun and overwhelmed border towns can find relief.”
Adams decided to get involved and he did it by aiming false accusations at Texas. Gov. Abbott made them real. Now there’ll be even more complaining.
Venezuelans have been showing up daily at the offices of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York seeking help. “Their primary concern has been a place to stay, food for their children,” said Maryann Tharappel, who directs the organization’s immigrant and refugee services.
“The infrastructure in New York is not built for this,” she said. “We are not on the border.”
The open border is everywhere.
