In the 1980s, there were over 4 million enrolled scouts. Today the woke organization boasts that it “serves just over 1 million young people, including more than 176,000 girls and teens.”
Since the Boy Scouts dropped the whole gender thing, they’re also dropping the ‘boy’ part of the name to become ‘Scouting America’. That sounds like a vacation organization, not a program to develop skills and leadership in boys, but the Boy Scouts aren’t that anymore and haven’t been in a while.
The people most likely to want to send their children to the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts were more traditional. And many of them have split off into more traditional scouting groups. The Scouts are now a shell of what they used to be and adopting a generic name isn’t likely to fix that.
But officially everything is fine.
“In the next 100 years we want any youth in America to feel very, very welcome to come into our programs,” Roger Krone, who took over last fall as president and chief executive officer, said in an interview before the announcement.
The organization began allowing gay youth in 2013 and ended a blanket ban on gay adult leaders in 2015. In 2017, it made the historic announcement that girls would be accepted as Cub Scouts as of 2018 and into the flagship Boy Scout program — renamed Scouts BSA — in 2019.
“You could see a change in the attitude of some of the doubters who weren’t sure and they realized, wait, these kids are exactly the same, they just happen to have ponytails,” said Brady. His daughters are among the 13 girls in his troop and 6,000 girls nationwide who have achieved the vaunted Eagle Scout rank.
That’s right kids. Boys and girls are exactly the same. Except that the girls have ponytails.
But under whatever name, the BSA remains committed to DEI. And there’s the opportunity to volunteer for DEI training.
“BSA has collaborated with nonprofits to identify opportunities to advance the ideals of DEI through our communities.”
Finally, Boy Scouts of America, sorry Scouting America, can train kids with ponytails on the best way to get their race riot merit badge while burning American flags.

I found Baden Powell books good reading, although one book I ordered had a text by someone else on some other topic inside.
Nothing’s changed, except the organization has lost 3 of it’s 4 million members, as the national population increased by about 100 million. Apparently they aren’t welcoming to all the youth of America.
I’d say they should change their name to the Young Poineers, but they don’t even rate that anymore, since the left marched through the American (British, originally) institution.
To be fair, I don’t think all of that massive drop in membership numbers is the boy scouts fault. Little kids just don’t do the outdoors anymore. Look at how many kids play outside now days compared to the eighties and seventies. Pretty sad. Now sadly, I think smartphones are replacing everything, including outdoor play time.
I notice the Girl Scouts still exist. The emasculation of the Boy Scouts is just more misandry on display, by dykes.

its not climate friendly to have young males learning about life basics in a rural setting. its not climate friendly. better to contain young males indoors where they have no option but be conditioned by the e-religion of hate, division and deceit . the establishment is doing every thing it can to contain all people in one of many inner city’s. easier to manage and exterminate as needed.
covid lockdowns of inner city’s is a good example of how it works. the further away from population centers, the less stringent the lockdown. less government is always better, vote for less always. never see legislation to takeaway government oversight, so a “no” vote on any new powers is a vote for freedom, no matter the “feel good” pitch government offers. more than enough laws, legislation and regulation on the books not recognized or “pick and choose” which to enforce. its a matter of convenience for government when discussing rule of law.
Changing the name will not solve problems within the organization or with parents who don’t send their kids out to play. Ensure you have a proper scout master and give the scouts a reason to join. Parents, take away those stupid indoctrinating cell phones and kick the little darlings out of the house.
As a former eagle from the 70’s living in northcal, I can say that scouting caught the CA wave of moral ambiguity. There was always the minor gay subculture, especially in CA. That said, the normal boys kept all that in check which meant mostly watching asst scoutmasters as they were the conduit of that action.
Those 70s saplings grew and drove out all the quality aspects of scouting, which included honoring God. It is truly sad that another core institution has displaced truth and honor with fadish, ever-changing foolish rules.
This is a good point. The scouting I remember emphasized two things – God and Patriotism. We swore to do our best to do our duty to God and country. Now, with DEI, who’s God? DEI, if taken to its ultimate absurdity, means that everyone gets to be an eagle scout, and merit badges are racist/sexist. Welcome to the new age.

Kind of odd – OUR Parents had a hard time getting us to come INTO our homes! We were outside playing ball, fishing in the creeks, damming the creeks for swimming holes, climbing trees, walking on the rails (contest to see who could walk the furthest), and many other outside activities! We did all this without any adult supervision – just our own COMMON SENSE!! We had Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts. The girls had Brownies and then Girl Scouts! It was fairly simple!!
