Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

In February, we reported that Soros was about to take over the third-largest broadcaster in the country, Audacy, along with its stations.
After Audacy was forced to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Soros Fund Management bought hundreds of millions of its debt for 50 cents on the dollar and under a bankruptcy agreement will become its largest shareholder with a potential impact on much of the country and its politics.
Audacy claims to be able to reach 200 million people across the range of its properties which include sports, music and talk radio stations, as well as a large digital platform, and while Audacy is not an inherently conservative company, it owns a number of talk radio stations and the talk radio format caters to commuters, early risers and working people which is to say conservatives. And the Soros takeover will give one of the biggest funders of leftist extremism control over not only conservative talk radio stations but those that are, like WILK, in swing states. That includes two other stations in Pennsylvania and many others across the country.
He’s not stopping.
Soros Fund Management, founded by billionaire investor George Soros, is tightening its grip over the US radio industry after scooping up a majority stake in bankrupt radio company Audacy.
In those talks, Soros’ fund, which is now controlled by the magnate’s nonprofit organization, Open Society Foundations, has privately mulled acquiring other major radio companies, including AM and FM giant Cumulus Media, according to Semafor.
Cumulus Media has been described as the second largest radio network in the country (the New York Post describes Audacy as the third largest), but either way, we are talking about a massive empire.
Audacy claimed over 200 million listeners while Cumulus claims over 250 million.
And it’s not a coincidence that this is happening right before an election.
…a Soros-backed firm played a key role in Univision’s $60 million sale of 17 Hispanic radio stations to a company run by veterans of Democratic politics, per Semafor.
Republicans could have challenged the Audacy takeover. They failed to do so. And Soros will only become more aggressive.
Chris Shugart says
I wouldn’t worry much about it. I thought Soros was smarter than this. Doesn’t he know the history of Air America? No matter how many stations he takes over, the programming will be mostly leftists in an echo chamber talking to each other. You can re-format the programming of 100 radio stations, but you can’t make the public listen to it.
Reggie Dye says
You are correct Chris, but I don’t think the point is to put on progressive programming that no one listens to. It’s to remove conservative voices so there’s no real information or alternative to the progressive propaganda.
Paul says
Sorry Reggie. Chris is correct. People are not going to stop listening to say Sean Hannity; He and others will always find a network or create their own. I think the only thing that will happen is if Soros takes off Conservative voices he will lose his shirt.

Americans, do not kid your self-serve it’s Soros who is the master controlling the WH and all Democrats policies. It’s the greedy politicians of both parties who have literally sold America to Soros on behalf of their personal greed.
SPURWING PLOVER says
Soros and the rest of his ilk want total control of our very lives and he simply uses his ill-gotten wealth to do so this War Criminal but one day his number will come up so that’s why his rotten son is ready to take over when Soros ends up with Satan
JG says
Soros and his family are listed as American Citizens but do not really live in America. Soros was a young Nazi originally and I do not understand how he became an American Citizen. He has spent many millions on corrupting our various legal and political systems. The worst has been our Judicial and DAs in various large metro areas.
Seeing that MSM is dying as they have turned to the left and fully follow the DNC script it is only two things that give people the truth: 1) Right Wing Radio, and 2) the internet. Past radio has shown that Left Wing Radio does not work and I think Soros is believing he can control all the networks. I do not think this will work as the internet is now tied into radio so the networks cannot be fully controlled.

I agree. Psalm 2 spells it out: when the world authorities plan to rule explicitly against the rule of GOD, HE actually laughs at them. “Look it up”!

Funny the FCC isn’t concerned about a monopoly
Domenic Pepe says
The FCC is dominated by democrats/leftists.

Is it a sin to pray to God to euthanize Soros, like an injured horse needs to be euthanized ?
This is an important theological question.
No offense to horses is intended.
Martina Vaslovik says
Oh I never listen to radio, it’s just a bunch of ugly noise and commercials.
danknight says
No one will listen to Left-wing radio … but many of us will listen to garbage.
As for right-wing radio … I’ve already noticed the shift. There are new hosts – nice young fellows with little or no idea of where we’ve been or what’s going on – and old hosts are focused on nothing significant or yammering about the plandemic (years too late and millions of deaths too little) …
or yapping about getting 3-5% more ‘votes’ …
… to overcome a massive multi-million ballot cheat machine …
Sore assets can only silence what little is on the radio during the work day.
The goal is to sow despair and demoralize the peasants.
It’s a depressing thought, but I don’t think any patriot will be changing their vote.

Well said, DankKnight.
Very little is worth the time on those airwaves anymore. I still miss El Rushbo, & Paul Harvey on the AM dial.
RIP, Gentlemen.
Thanks for continuing to bring us relevant material, Daniel & the FPM Team!

Sounds like an anti-trust argument in there somewhere…
Tex the Mockingbird says
Look up Ben Garrison he has some really great Anti-Soros Comics
Johnny Dammitson says
I think the better question to ask is: How did the radio industry repeatedly shoot itself in its feet that they put themselves in the position to be bought up by vulture capitalists like Soros? I would submit that the radio industry, in general, has been dying a slow, painful death for the better part of twenty years ever since they started punishing the very people that make radio worth listening to: the on-air talent.
It was Howard Stern, Rush Limbaugh, Opie and Anthony, Kevin and Bean, Mark and Brian, Don Imus, Adam Carolla, Phil Hendrie, Tom Leykis, all of these talents and more that made radio worth listening to. And they’re all gone from the dial. Besides the passings of Rush and Imus, all the others left radio because either: A.) They were unceremoniously fired; B.) They left for satellite radio and podcasting so they could say what they weren’t able to say because of the FCC or because of cowardly radio station managers who cared more about their bottom line.
I can safely say I haven’t tuned into any radio station in the last ten years because it all sucks now. It’s all automated play lists or sports talk. Whatever hosts are left don’t even have a thumbnail of the talent that Rush or Howard or all the others that are gone from radio had. All the real talent is in podcasting and satellite radio,
In other words, nothing of value is gained in buying up radio networks that nobody wants to listen to anymore.
