If you’re wondering where Al Sharpton went, he’s still trying to work hard for Dem causes, even if he doesn’t quite understand them. So he went off to Palo Alto, with its huge African-American population, to pursue a vital civil rights cause, censoring President Trump.
The issue at stake here is the push by lefties to force Facebook to “fact-check” or subject ads by Republicans to media censorship.
Mark Zuckerberg, despite a lot of pressure, has refused to do it. So Al Sharpton went over to tell him that’s racist.
Civil rights activist Reverend Al Sharpton said he had a “no-holds-barred meeting” with Mark Zuckerberg at the Facebook CEO’s home on Monday over the company’s decision not to fact-check ads and other content from politicians.
The meeting, which Sharpton said lasted nearly two hours at Zuckerberg’s Palo Alto house, included multiple civil rights activists and Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg.
“We told him that we feel that the exemption for politicians could be used to suppress voting, give wrong messaging and could suppress census taking,” Sharpton told Reuters in a phone interview on Monday after the meeting.
Whatever the hell that means.
I’m unsure how not censoring Republican ads can lead to suppress census taking. Maybe Jussie Smollett can explain.
But the upshot is that somebody in the DNC dug up Sharpton, or he dug up himself, to argue that the First Amendment is racist. Not a new argument and the guy most famous for his part in an anti-Semitic pogrom that saw thugs chanting, “Death to the Jews” is probably not the best messenger for it.
Like Neo-Nazis, Sharpton is one of the worst arguments for free speech. And, like his white racist ilk, he’s arguing against it.
But if you disagree with the racist, you’re racist.
