Thomas Frank, the Dem ‘Kansas Whisperer’, phoned in with an op-ed about the election results for the New York Times whose only worthwhile part is the opener.
Everyone has a moment when they first realized that Donald Trump might well return, and here is mine. It was back in March, during a visit to the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery, when I happened to read the explanatory text beside an old painting. This note described the westward advance of the United States in the 19th century as “settler colonialism.” I read it and I knew instantly where this nation was going.
My problem with this bit of academic jargon was not that it was wrong, per se, or that President Biden was somehow responsible for putting it there, but rather that it offered a glimpse of our poisoned class relations. Some curator at one of our most exalted institutions of public instruction had decided to use a currently fashionable, morally loaded academic keyword to address a visitor to the museum — say, a family from the Midwest, doing the round of national shrines — and teach them a lesson about American wickedness.
By the second paragraph, Frank is already backpedaling from this observation about the poisonous power of wokeness. The rest of the op-ed is a barely digestible mush in which he complains that the Democrats spent too much time talking about Liz Cheney and not enough about unions.
(They spent far more time talking about unions than they did Liz Cheney or ‘war making’.)
Frank isn’t wrong when he identified that painting caption as a fracture point. He’s just wrong about why it matters. He’d like the Democrats to be a ‘working class party’ again, but he either doesn’t understand what the problem is or can’t say it out loud.
An anti-American party can’t be a working-class party. Leftist movements, no matter how evil or destructive, could be patriotic in the sense of upholding the national greatness of a country they took over. The Bolsheviks were patriotic in that sense. They wanted a great Russia. The Chinese Communists wanted a great China. Do America’s leftists want a great America?
The “settler colonialism” tag gives us the answer. What they believe in is destroying America.
That was not always the case. A Communist takeover in the 1920s would have led to a horrifying tyranny but one dedicated to a strong Communist America. Maybe even in the 1950s.
By the 1970s, the idea of America was fundamentally anathema. Western civilization itself had to be destroyed. Third world dogma demanded the end of the United States. And of Europe.
An anti-American party has plenty to do for writers, activists, gender theorists and organizers. It can have jobs for techies and academics, but it doesn’t have anything to do for the working class.
Especially when you pile on environmentalism.
Beyond offering a lot of government freebies (on a race and trans tested basis) it has nothing to say to the working class. Even unionization has become an upper middle class hipster phenomenon at major newspapers, government agencies and nonprofits.
What working class people actually want are good steady well paying jobs with a ladder upward for themselves and their children. That’s why Trump’s tariffs are appealing. And it’s why Democrats are unconvincing when it comes to protectionism because they don’t believe that America is worth protecting. It’s why Democrats can no longer be a working class party. They’re not working class and they don’t believe in protecting America from anything. Nor do they value the working class as anything except segments of a potential base whose value is tiered based on race.
The Great Society, which Frank would like to get back to, was the product of Democrats who were at least outwardly patriotic or at least could speak the language. Kamala was the product of transnational elites who happened to live in America, but could just as easily have been raised and be running for office on the same program anywhere in Europe or Canada.
Her priority wasn’t the working class, it was using equity to cut America down to size.
How do the Dems get back to a working class party when they’re not working class and they hate the country that the working class lives in? They can’t wage a revolution for the working class because their revolution is on behalf of overthrowing America, not its government, but its society, culture, values and geographic existence?
You can’t fight for the people of a country you want to destroy.

The modern left, in America and places like Canada and Australia, has become an unholy coalition of parasites from the upper and lower end of the working spectrum.
The so called “elites”, who are anything but, engaged in tertiary “industry” that is essentially parasitic on primary and secondary and couldn’t exist without them, and the mendicant welfare class who are purely parasitic in that they contribute nothing to society and merely take what ever they can get.

I guess it’s hard to be a commie when you don’t give a shit about the proles. That Alphabet people tribalism doesn’t seem to be much of a substitute for class envy.

Yes.
The Left hates America. They also hate whites. They hate Western Civ.
They hate anyone who disagrees.
They hate Christians.
They hate G-d.
They also hate Jews, but apparently that went unnoticed until last year, and even most Jews seem unaware of the danger of the party of the Ku Klux Klan. Hello?!
Some of us would think these observations alone would be a clue.
You don’t need a sexually perverted female Human Resources director to rip up your resume and tell you that you’re not qualified to do … the job you were already hired to fix after the Quota Quacks BLEEPed it up …
… to understand how serious this is.

Thomas Franks should die his hair blue and change his sex.
He has no more idea of what reality is than a snake in an aquarium at the zoo.
He interviewed a bunch of “Kansans” … eggheads with degrees and followers of Marx … to wonder why ordinary Kansans would reject their commie wanna-be overlords.
OTOH. I interviewed over 70 elderly Kansans in summer of ’98. Don’t ask why, but all of them were farmers or rural homeowners in southeast Kansas.
And what they said fits reality and the facts better than anything out of ANY academic publishing house.
The Forgotten Man by Amity Shlaes is the only book I know of that even comes close.
Kansas is going “purple” – but that’s not college commies in Lawrence or soccer moms in Overland Park. It is the S-election offices “voting” on “behalf” of the hundreds of thousands of Hispanics now living in Kansas.
And I’m very sure it’s the S-election offices voting because those Hispanics are NOT in Topeka, Lawrence, or Overland Park. Many are in Johnson County (KSK and Overland Park) and Sedgwick County (Wichita), but half of them are in western Kansas. So if they’re voting – they’re voting Republican. And if you know any Hispanic AMERICANS in Kansas, that’s not a surprise. But they cannot be voting Democrat, or we would have lost almost every county in Kansas – not to mention the whole state.

This should convince naysayers about the takeover of the Democratic Party by Communists and Socialists. For additional proof, enter “american marxists’ bolshevik conquest of the democratic party” in the search box of DuckDuckGo and Brave to find and read Trevor Loudon’s article from The New American website.

It seems our writers are afraid to print the truth.
America’s leadership within the DNC is largely Communists. Do we really need further proof that Communism through the leadership of the DNC has infiltrated the US government and they now are working very hard to take us down? Think about the big money ($17 miilion that we are aware of) laundered to the Biden’s from Communist China. Not to mention the corrupt Clintons and Obama leadership and their Communist background.
Communism in action is what Antifa and the other Dem protesters are. Kamela has Communism/Marxism in her background. Removing our historical statues is part of the Communist plan of removing a country’s history Much of the leadership of the Democrat Party is Communist—Nancy Pelosi’s mentor was Vivian Halinan whose far-left lawyer husband defended Communists and hosted parties for the CPUSA. America better wake up you’re under assault from within by people who are funded by foreign sources.
I refer to it as the Communist DNC as most of the leadership are Communists. Why I believe this is can be found in the book “You Can Still Trust the Communists (to be Communists).pdf The book can be found for free online by searching the title. The first 20 pages or so are slow reading but after that, I couldn’t put the book down. An updated hard copy version of this book by David Noebel can be found online.
This book reminded me about Bill Clinton’s desire to visit Russia and Russia allowed him in. The book states that the USSR only allowed those to visit that they believed they could use and then remember, they gave permission for Bill Clinton to visit when he was a Rhodes scholar. Bernie Sanders was able to visit. People should ask, why these two men were so infatuated with Russia.
Obama also has Communism in his upbringing. Remember Obama and Michelle hung Mao Christmas ornaments on the White House tree and no one made a big deal out of it. Very little was in the news about that, was there? There was an article in a Washington magazine showing Jay Carney and his wife’s home with Communist posters on their walls. They stated they just loved their visit to Russia so much.
I think many of our Congressional leaders and media have gotten huge payoffs from China, as Joe Biden did taking $17 million from China, and are fearful of these payoffs being exposed or other personal info they want to keep hidden. Something is up from their silence.

A fair assessment of the Great Society must start with the plain truth that Lyndon Johnson was a craven power-seeker who made FDR’s views on social security sound like a Sunday School lesson. No more duplicitous person held power in the USA until the election of Barack Obama. The Great Society was sold with pictures of Appalachian poverty, but it was really aimed at creating a permanent dependent underclass of minority citizens. The notion of importing dependents had not yet achieved maturity in the party, despite Senator Kennedy’s corrupt deal in the works to open the floodgates of immigration. When you look at an image of a “gravity well,” representing the increased power of downward pull as you descend closer to the source of attraction, you can easily see how the disruptions to national culture of the 1960s have become a torrent of disaster in three generations.
Standing athwart this maelstrom of evil is one billionaire who, we hope, has learned from his prior term in office to trust none of the establishment in his party and will surround himself with knights valiant to break the power of the federal government to destroy our culture. He must be supported by the handful of faithful religious and social leaders with vigor to defy the zeitgeist and rally Americans with traditional values to stand up to the lunacy of globalism, eternal war, social dependency, cultural erosion, and incivility.
Join the fight. Reject the liars and the purveyors of smut, socialism, class guilt, racial preference, anti-biological fantasy, and pure evil. Be strong in the truth, and you will find companions to help you stand for the right.
