This is another one of those moments where the status quo of a decade ago is now an extraordinary thing.
Kamala Harris, Buttigieg and Warren are rushing to cash in on threats of prosecuting President Trump. Andrew Yang, a non-politician who has no shot at being elected to anything, but who will make it to the debate stage based on his out of the box thinking, had another one of those.
2020 Democratic candidate Andrew Yang said he is opposed to prosecuting President Trump after his term in office in a Thursday tweet, calling it “the kind of thing that happens in developing countries.”
Yeah.
But in 2019, threatening to prosecute your political opponents if you win is the new normal. So I guess we’re a “developing” country. What we’re developing into doesn’t bear thinking too much about.
And dismissing the idea of prosecuting your political opponent is now a radical idea.
