Every leftist policy is about enhancing the power and privilege of its class while depriving everyone else of their existing way of life.
You will pay more for food, be unable to heat your home, or drive to work. Crime will overrun your community while the police are defunded, but the key police defunders will have the best security in the world.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez paid thousands for personal security to a former Blackwater contractor, a review of Federal Election Commission records shows.
During the Bush era, “Blackwater” was the scary name which liberals used to frighten their children.
When New York City moved to defund a billion dollars from the NYPD, Ocasio-Cortez slammed the measure as insufficient. “Defunding police means defunding police,” the congresswoman said in a statement at the time.
In addition to Blackwater, Tullis also worked as a bail enforcement officer, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He refused to get into the specifics of his contract with the congresswoman, but said he frequently hired former military and law enforcement for protection jobs with VIPs — noting the gig wasn’t for the faint of heart.
“We’re not hiring social workers,” he laughed.
Nor would AOC be interested in turning to social workers for protection.
With all the Capitol Riot circus underway, don’t forget that the Capitol Police are one of the largest police forces in this country (and getting bigger) who are dedicated to protecting a small group of people.
Nobody’s defunding them. Just the opposite.
The Tullis money was just a small piece of the more than $34,000 AOC has spent on private security and consultants in the first half of 2021, records show.
AOC will whine that she faces a lot of threats. No doubt she’s gotten plenty of death threats. So has much of Congress. Especially anyone who spends a lot of time shouting on Twitter.
But why exactly does AOC get to have protection from former special forces personnel while her constituents get robbed and raped with impunity?
Another $1,552 was given to 24 & 7 Security & Investigation in Houston, which provided security for the congresswoman when she was in town to help raise money after the city was rocked by a devastating winter storm.
Owner Joe Orsak said he assigned a former US Army special forces veteran to watch her.
That’s life under police defunding. You get the security you can pay for.
