The faith movement known as ‘He Gets Us’ sponsored two ads during the Super Bowl that were intended to promote Jesus’s teachings of “unconditional love,” compassion, and togetherness.
Democrat Socialist Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) concluded, however, that these ads, which preached against hate, cruelty, anger, and exclusion, carried a much darker, more sinister message.
“Something tells me Jesus would *not* spend millions of dollars on Super Bowl ads to make fascism look benign,” AOC tweeted.
‘He Gets Us’ spokesperson Jason Vanderground responded to AOC’s outrageous denunciation of the ads by explaining their true purpose.
“Our research shows that many people’s only exposure to Jesus is through Christians who reflect him imperfectly,” Mr. Vanderground said, “and too often in ways that create a distorted or incomplete picture of his radical compassion and love for others. We believe it’s more important now than ever for the real, authentic Jesus to be represented in the public marketplace as he is in the Bible.”
Mr. Vanderground explained the message of the second ad, a sixty second spot, which showed people angrily confronting each other until the tagline “Jesus loved the people we hate” appeared on the screen.
“What could possibly be louder and more powerful than hate? Love can,” Mr. Vanderground said. “But not just any love. Confounding love. Unconditional love. Sacrificial love. The love we see in Jesus. What if we tried to love our enemies the way Jesus loved his? How would it change the tenor of our conflicts and our conversations?”
Mr. Vanderground might as well have been talking to a brick wall as far as AOC is concerned.
Although Rep. Ocasio-Cortez is already one of the left-wing Squad’s leading messengers of hate, she has now sunk to new depths with her malicious tweet regarding the ‘He Gets Us’ Super Bowl ads. AOC tried to twist a message urging people to put aside their hate, anger, and prejudices and to work together to make this world a better place into something diabolical.
So, what is the ‘He Gets Us’ movement, whose faith-based ads caused AOC to unleash her own hate, anger, and prejudices, all about? Its website gives a clue if AOC had bothered to read it.
The website states that “we’re not ‘left’ or ‘right’ or a political organization of any kind. We’re also not affiliated with any particular church or denomination. We simply want everyone to understand the authentic Jesus as he’s depicted in the Bible — the Jesus of radical forgiveness, compassion, and love.”
The Super Bowl ads are part of an extended multimillion dollar advertising campaign, run by the nonprofit Servant Foundation, that seeks to make Jesus’s life story and teachings more relatable to those who have felt marginalized. Its past ads, for example, have depicted Jesus as a refugee and and as a sufferer of torment for beliefs that were outside the conventional wisdom of the time.
As for the nonprofit Servant Foundation that runs the ad campaign through the ‘He Gets Us’ movement, it has received a 100%, four-star rating from Charity Navigator.
But here we have AOC, a self-described “raised Catholic,” whose support for abortion on demand is diametrically opposed to core Catholic teaching, posing as a reader of Jesus’s mind.
As Catholic League President Bill Donohue noted, AOC was “perturbed because one of the organizations supporting the Jesus ads is Hobby Lobby, the evangelical-run store chain that won an important religious liberty victory in the U.S. Supreme Court.”
David Green, the conservative founder and CEO of the Hobby Lobby store chain, is a major backer of the ‘He Gets Us’ campaign. In 2014, the Supreme Court ruled that Obamacare federal regulations requiring employers to provide cost-free contraception coverage through their health care plans violated the religious rights of the Green family business, Hobby Lobby.
AOC has no use for the family business that won an important victory for religious freedom and whose CEO is supporting the ‘He Gets Us’ ads. AOC believes that the “only time religious freedom is invoked is in the name of bigotry and discrimination.”
AOC used the ‘’fascism” label to attack the ads without, said Mr. Donohue, explaining “what was fascistic about either of the Christian commercials.” That is because AOC has no rational explanation for much of what she utters.
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez loves to use the “fascism” slur to demonize anyone or any idea she disagrees with. AOC’s attack on the Super Bowl faith-based ads is only the latest example of her angry displays of histrionics.
In 2019, for example, AOC said that the U.S. was “headed to fascism,” after having previously described illegal immigrant detention facilities as “concentration camps on our southern border.”
By the end of 2019, AOC decided that the United States had already become a fascist country. At a presidential campaign rally for Democrat Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders in late 2019, AOC proclaimed that “what we’re living in right now is not an advanced society… it is fascism.”
AOC focused her anger at the time on the Trump administration. In the leadup to the 2020 presidential election, AOC said that the election was about “stopping fascism in the United States.”
But AOC’s “fascism” war cry has not changed since President Biden came into office. Last fall, prior to the midterm elections, AOC proclaimed, “We are really truly facing an environment of fascism in the United States of America.”
AOC and her left-wing progressive comrades are the real authoritarians with fascist tendencies.
The Left are the ones weaponizing federal law enforcement against law-abiding Americans.
The Left are the ones seeking to infringe upon free speech and who are colluding with left-leaning high-tech companies and the mainstream media to censure information that does not fit their agenda.
The Left are the ones using the public schools to undermine parents’ fundamental rights to direct the upbringing, moral and social development, and education of their children.
The positive message of love and togetherness that the ‘He Gets Us’ ads deliver is a strong antidote to the Left’s attempt to poison America.

No; it isn’t. Christian “love” is irrational, mystical, supernatural, magical thinking, collectivist, “love”. That kind of irrational collectivist “love” is the same kind of “love” that leads to the welfare state, socialism, communism, and fascism. What Americans need to practice is rational, this-world, reality-based love. The love of individualism, individualist love based on individual character, and the love of Capitalism.
“The solution to the crisis of our age is love, as everyone says. But the love we need is not love of God or the neighbor. It is the love of the good for being the good. The good, in this context, includes reality, man the hero, and man’s tool of survival [reason].” – Leonard Peikoff

You’re looking for a controversy where there isn’t any.
Love is Love. What Jesus said–and lived–regarding unconditional Love was radical and true. He continues preaching it, long after His incarnation as Jesus.

THX1138, try this explanation about Love. is is different than your opinion or Peikoff
1 Corinthians 13:4-13
New International Version
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
Hope it helps you to a greater understanding.

AOC is the mouth piece for the Evil Squad. And we all know they ARE the real hateful fascists. Just projecting themselves as always.

AOC isn’t as dumb as you think. If you watch the video at 1/4 speed, you’ll realize there are enough of images of angry, older, obese white people to conjure up images of Trump. The message of the video, intended or not, is Trump type supporters need to be forgiven, and AOC was having not of that. The problem with the #hegetsus campaign is Jesus is the Savior of mankind not just a sympathetic shoulder to cry on.

Tell me again how that wee bitch got into Congress and what morons put her there as she is mercifully free from the ravages of intelligence.
I remember seeing her crying beside a Parking Lot Fence in Texas dressed in her white Gucci rags while telling everybody she was against this fence that is blocking illegals from entering the States and then screamed about the ”cages” while forgetting that it was her main man Obummer that actually built those ”cages”….
Ya cant fix her kind of stupid, you can only kick her out of Congress… Please…

If this moron really wanted to campaign against fascism she would turn what little power she has on the military/industrial complex. Therein lies no better example of fascism in action and, by no means, the only one.
