George Floyd, who robbed a woman at gunpoint and died of a drug overdose while being restrained by police, is being “remembered” in the place that his supporters looted in the days following his accidental death.
The Minneapolis community came together Saturday to remember George Floyd’s life and legacy.
The ‘Rise and Remember’ festival attracted hundreds of people to George Floyd Square.
“I like the way the community is together,” said Orlando Matthews, visiting from New Orleans with his son. “You see people from all sorts of places.”
People from all over the country are here to visit the memorial, including Matthews.
George Floyd Square has attracted a lot of people from all over the country. Generally, they came to steal things. But after being trashed, the businesses are just trying to cash in on George Floyd enthusiasts who aren’t burning things.
Perez and dozens of others began painting the plywood boards used to protect buildings during the unrest.
Many themes were about Floyd and social justice.
That’s why the plywood was there.
The George Floyd Global Memorial now has about 200 pieces of what organizers call ‘protest art’ —collected from George Floyd Square, now on display at the Chicago Avenue Fire Arts Center.
Until a new round of looting and burning properly honors George Floyd’s legacy by setting them on fire.

What legacy? Legacy of drugs??

You’d have to pay me tons of money to visit fentanyl square. Imagine the smell!

Nobody ever mentions that he was hooping fentanyl. I guess that is too gross.
Kynarion Hellenis says
“Hooping” sounds like playing basketball. The reality of the meaning is very gross.
He probably washed his hands afterwards, right?
Jeff Bargholz says
“Hooping?” I never heard that term before. It’s interesting.
Did I tell you I met a chick from Tanzania? She’s coming by tomorrow. I’m supposed to hook up with my ex girlfriend’s sister at 10 AM or maybe 10 PM, so I might have schedule problems.
I’m sure I’ll screw everything up except the sex.
Algorithmic Analyst says
Tanzania. I think that’s on the east coast of Africa. Baden-Powell showed some pictures of Phoenician style forts on that east coast. Apparently the Phoenicians made it all the way around Africa and sailed up the east coast and probably mined gold or silver or something.
Jeff Bargholz says
Yes, Tanzania is on the South East coast of Africa adjacent to Madagascar and has Lake Victoria on it’s North border.
I may get to visit. The chick invited me to. I would go anywhere she asks me to.
I need to remember her name, though. I keep forgetting.

How long will this outrage against those 4 cops go on? What’s the status of Officer Chavin’s appeal? Anyone know?

Can but hope.

In my view the BLM/Antifa rioters should have all been shot.
But as worthless as GF may have been he did not deserve to be killed in that manner by Chauvin. No one does. Who appointed Chauvin to be an executioner?
Conservatives sacrifice their integrity when they defend an animal like Chauvin.
Beez says
GF died of a fentanyl overdose according to the medical examiner’s initial report. And that was withheld from Officer Chauvin’s defense counsel and the public for a month while his trial proceeded.
GF deserves to burn in hell. So does MN AG Keith “X” Ellison. So do the prosecution’s witnesses who hurled vile expletives at Chauvin from the witness stand during trial. So does the medical examiner for changing his opinion while testifying under oath because the state threatened to revoke his medical license if he didn’t.
You can find the medical examiner’s report online. What do you deserve for not finding it and reading it?
Jeff Bargholz says
Chauvin didn’t kill St George Floyd. He died of a fentanyl overdose. F him.
Algorithmic Analyst says
Oh, that gave me a new insight. He had more than 3 time the lethal dose of fentanyl in his system. He hooped it to hide it from the police. My new insight was, maybe he was so low IQ that he didn’t realize it would kill him?
That’s one way I always get tripped up trying to figure out these low lifes. Previously I had projected more intelligence on him, like maybe he thought he could handle the dose.
Beez says
Officer Chauvin put his knee on the side or back of GF’s neck for 8 minutes while they waited for the ambulance to transport GF. Chauvin learned that method of restraining in MPD training. It was in the MPD training manual. The manual was based on a peer reviewed article in a Canadian medical journal for criminal justice practitioners published only a few years before MPD adopted this method.
Floyd died of a fentanyl overdose which was 3 times the lethal level. He claimed he couldn’t breathe from the moment the police opened his car door. His already diseased heart was enlarged to the point that it burst because of the massive drug overdose from hooping. AND his physical resistance to a lawful arrest.
