THE SIXTH COMMANDMENT PROHIBITS MURDER, NOT KILLING
“The Hebrew word in this commandment is “murder” (tirtzach), not “kill” (taharog). The Sixth Commandment does not prohibit all killing; it prohibits murder. Murder is immoral killing. There is moral killing—when done in self-defense, in defense of the innocent, in moral wars, and in executing murderers. It is also permissible to kill animals for food.”

NOTE:
1611 KJV 6th commandment says “Thou shalt not KILL.”
1982 NKJV and other modern bibles like ESV, CSB, etc. say “Thou shalt not MURDER.”
There is a major difference between preplanned MURDER. Like for jealousy, thievery, power, etc…and defensive killing to save
