If you’re going to choose between the “How dare you” of a wealthy teenage brat or working class people, go with the latter.
It’s the right thing to do.
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison yesterday rejected calls for what he described as “reckless” and “job-destroying” cuts to the country’s coal industry…
“I am not going to write off the jobs of thousands of Australians by walking away from traditional industries,” he told the Seven Network, in one of several morning interviews rejecting calls for further action.
“What we won’t do is engage in reckless and job-destroying and economy-crunching targets which are being sought,” he told Channel 9, responding to calls for climate-friendly policies.
The AFP story is a hit piece complete with pseudoscience nonsense about wildfires caused by global warming But contrast PM Morrison’s comments with Joe Biden’s betrayal of the American working class.
Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden answered in the affirmative on Thursday when asked whether he would be willing to sacrifice economic growth and blue-collar jobs in the oil and gas industries in favor of clean energy.
“The answer is yes,” the former vice president responded to Politico’s Tim Alberta, who moderated Thursday night’s sixth Democratic presidential primary debate in Los Angeles.
Alberta noted that the U.S. has seen several “stints of explosive economic growth due to a boom in oil and natural gas production” and asked Biden whether transitioning to a green economy was worth losing some economic growth as well as displacing “maybe hundreds of thousands of blue-collar workers.”
“The opportunity for those workers to transition to high-paying jobs … is real,” Biden responded. “There are so many things we can do, and we have to make sure we explain it to those people who are displaced that their skills are going to be needed for the new opportunities.”
“New Opportunities” is an Orwellian term meaning that you will lose your job, your family will lose their sole source of support, and the people who did this will offer you a chance to get subsidized training for the Green Jobs that don’t exist and when they do go to the politically connected.
Biden’s people are recycling creepy gaslighting terms from the dot com world.
. For example, it instructs that when someone quits or gets fired, the event will be referred to as “graduation.” In my first month at HubSpot I’ve witnessed several graduations, just in the marketing department. We’ll get an email from Cranium saying, “Team, just letting you know that Derek has graduated from HubSpot, and we’re excited to see how he uses his superpowers in his next big adventure!” Only then do you notice that Derek is gone, that his desk has been cleared out. Somehow Derek’s boss will have arranged his disappearance without anyone knowing about it. People just go up in smoke, like Spinal Tap drummers.
Nobody ever talks about the people who graduate, and nobody ever mentions how weird it is to call it “graduation.”
You have been graduated from your job because Joe Biden refuses to choose American workers over environmentalists.
