I’m not going to bother with the New York Times article on the subject, which is just condensed propaganda, the meaningful thing here is the number.

$20 million is a good deal of money. Raising that kind of money means a lot of moneyed lefties are backing this beast. A lot of people focus in on Soros or the Ford Foundation. They obviously are providing a lot of capital, but these riots are being funded by some of the same blue urban and suburban territories that poured money into campaigns across the country in 2018. If we were able to see the finances for the  Minnesota Freedom Fund, I strongly suspect that we would see a whole lot of New York and San Francisco cash pouring into them.

Heavy hitters like Act Blue have also shown up to the party. As have various Black Lives Matter chapters which have a history of getting backing from the Ford Foundation. There are bail funds in most places that the rioters are operating.

And for anyone who thinks that nailing them or their organizations will be a slam dunk, remember they’ll be going in front of Democrat judges if they’re being tried by cities or states, and Clinton and Obama appointees if they’re being tried for Federal offenses, and polls show strong sympathy for them in these locations if there are jury trials. Rioters and looters have a history of walking. The Antifas will have the best lefty lawyers, the NLG is already active, and the ordinary looter will already have a huge criminal record, no fear of prison, and will be out in hours with no bail in places like NYC or LA anyway. Some of the guys who were caught attacking cops may have the book throw at them. 

This is not just about some secret organization. This is the Democrat Party and its wealthy urban and suburban base.
