Biden is running out of allies to screw.
Saudi, Emirati Leaders Decline Calls With Biden During Ukraine Crisis – Wall Street Journal
It’s hard to imagine worse timing than trying to cut a deal with Iran, an enemy so dangerous that the Emiratis formed an alliance with Israel, and also asking the Saudis and the UAE for help at the same time.
Can any administration be this stupid?
The White House unsuccessfully tried to arrange calls between President Biden and the de facto leaders of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates as the U.S. was working to build international support for Ukraine and contain a surge in oil prices, said Middle East and U.S. officials.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the U.A.E.’s Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan both declined U.S. requests to speak to Mr. Biden in recent weeks, the officials said, as Saudi and Emirati officials have become more vocal in recent weeks in their criticism of American policy in the Gulf.
What exactly is in it for them? A nuclear Iran? More money for the Ayatollahs to finance wars against them, including shooting missiles into Saudi Arabia?
A public snub of Biden in wartime, much like the Abraham Accords, are marks of desperation and deep concern.
Biden got this ball rolling by ending support for the campaign against Iran’s Houthi terrorists in Yemen. He pulled defensive weapons and now he’s lobbying for help.
The Israelis have tried to help, but America and Israel have a special relationship, which means Israel tends to bend over backward for the White House.
For the rest of the region, things are much more transactional, and you can only screw allies so many times before they won’t even take your calls.
