The Travis King case is already starting to resemble the Bowe Bergdahl case. King appears to have tried to defect to North Korea. The Norks decided that they didn’t want him, but the Biden administration sure does.
And he’s not getting the treatment allotted to a defector, but to some kind of war hero.
“U.S. officials have secured the return of Private Travis King from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea,” White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said in a statement. “We appreciate the dedication of the interagency team that has worked tirelessly out of concern for Private King’s wellbeing.”
His wellbeing?
A US military official who spoke to DailyMail.com said that questions about a court martial or other sanctions on King for his actions would be deferred for the time being, while he receives any necessary medical or psychological care.
‘Our focus right now is caring for him and his family. And we’ll work through all those administrative status questions following the completion of his reintegration,’ the person said.
‘When he arrives on US soil, he will be evaluated by a very talented, and experienced team who are going to guide him through a reintegration process that will address any medical and emotional concerns and ensure we get him in a good place to reunite with his family,’ the official added.
This is how we handle defections now? Soldiers who refused to get vaccinated were booted out unceremoniously, but defecting to some of our worst enemies merits a “talented and experienced team” guiding him through a “reintegration process” and a “family reunion”?
American and South Korean guards shouted “get him” as they scrambled unsuccessfully to stop U.S. Army soldier Travis King from sprinting into North Korea, a New Zealand woman who was on the same tour to the border area said on Wednesday.
“It all happened pretty quickly,” said Sarah Leslie, who was in the Joint Security Area (JSA) of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) with some 40 other tourists who were walking around and taking photos in the moments before King made a mad dash to nuclear-armed and reclusive North Korea.
But this is an administration of traitors and they know their own kind.
North Korea said Tuesday that Travis King, the private who bolted across the military demarcation line with South Korea in July, had confessed to defecting because of “inhuman” treatment in the U.S. Army.
“During the investigation, Travis King confessed that he had decided to come over to the DPRK as he harbored ill feeling against inhuman maltreatment and racial discrimination within the U.S. Army,” the North Korean officials said.
“He also expressed his willingness to seek refugee in the DPRK or a third country, saying that he was disillusioned at the unequal American society. The investigation continues.”
You can see why the Biden administration sympathizes with this.

It’s obvious that private King exhibited the kind of leadership skills that the new WOKE military’s been looking for. After debrief, he’s probably headed straight for officer candidate training. I hesitate to bring up the pigmentation argumentation, but it undoubtedly played a role. Having a poster boy to demonstrate the need for DEI and anti-whiteness training is essential to good unit morale.
I miss the days when we shot traitors dead as an example to others.

Well, if Bill Clinton -Sel Ser No 3 26 46 228, cold enlist in the Army Reserves on Aug. 7, 1969, then go AWOL then DESERT,…………then become President as a DESERTER, what does it matter about one soldier who goes AWOL to North Korea.
NO!……….. Under Exec. Order 11497, Clinton was NOT NOT NOT eligible for the draft lottery as Bill was a draft delinquent, an enlistee and a DESERTER.
Proven by his Selective Service Record from the Hot Springs Draft Board Sheet 8.
Jeff Bargholz says
Of course his pigment played a role. King spouted lies about the Army and Americans society, the usual bullshit about blacks as oppressed victims when they’re actually the most privileged and pampered demographic in the country. He’s so stupid he doesn’t even know the NORKs hate blacks.
America would be better off if the Norks had shot him dead. I’m surprised he even made it across the demilitarized zone of whatever it’s called alive.
Cassandra says
North Korea is an ally to the Bi Dung regime, I’m sure when he is debriefed he can give them some new ideas on suppressing the population…
Noah Andeark says
Don’t we still have firing squads? One for Travis, one for President Xi’s pet, Jojo.
World@70 says
Do we really need him back? Are we going to gain some sort of advantage by bringing him back?
Did he possess any critical US Military knowledge? Did he impart any of that to NK? Will he be tried, judged and punished? He did, after all defect, or at the very least, as a member of the US military, desert?
The treatment described in Daniel’s article hardly seems fitting, but what should be done, if anything.
Algorithmic Analyst says
All the expert evaluation in the world isn’t going to fix this guy.
Jeff Bargholz says
No, he’s a critical race theory racist and whiner through and through.
This is what happens when the military recruits trannies and scum like Travis. Not only is he a defector and obviously quite stupid but I bet he’s a lousy soldier, which is probably why he claimed abuse.
He can’t succeed so he resents being disciplined when he fails. I bet he shirks his duty, too.
I know the type.
Mickorn says
Where, in any of the quotes or links you provide, do you get the impression that King is being treated “like some kind of war hero”? Because he’s being evaluated and the armed forces is showing concern for the welfare of his family?
Maybe King is a traitor. I would nevertheless hope he would be treated with basic compassion. Don’t you?
Daniel Greenfield says
I hope the firing squad uses only compassionate bullets.
TruthLaser says
Compassionate bullets have the appropriate soft hearts.
Jeff Bargholz says
Learn the use of hyperbole as a joke, you humorless troll.
King’s family is not the Army’s concern and he should be in a stockade pending his courts martial.
Dickshorn. Always against America and for its enemies.
FatherGuido says
As a US Army combat vet who had brothers come home in flag draped boxes, traitors do not get compassion. They deserve a cowards death.
SPURWING PLOVER says
Once again Biden the Blunder keeps showing us his total liberal contempt for America besides just selling America out to the CCP
Jeff Bargholz says
Beijing Biden definitely sold out to China but he doesn’t know who King is. Or the time and date or the last time he shit his adult diapers.
His handlers are responsible for treating King like a war hero.
TruthLaser says
PinocchiJoe belongs in a long term care facility, not belongs but I am picturing him there, that has a lobby with a piano. He couldn’t play it, just like he can’t play president. He would talk, whether or not anyone was there about things like the time he took on the savage beast, Corn Pop, and soothed him with his piano music. He doesn’t need the piano for playing anyway, just for classified documents for ChiComms placing piano tuners in the home posing as their ancestors
Jeff Bargholz says
He already has nurse caregivers, I guarantee it. People with stage four Alzheimers can’t take care of themselves.
Have you noticed he’s never on video using eating utensils or even drinking from a glass? That’s because he can’t. All he can handle are ice cream cones and even then you never see him get to the cone, just nibble off the top.
David Mu says
Clearly, he’s a moron and certainly a traitor – but also certainly a preferred victim of ‘racism’. Interesting – North Korea didn’t want him, but we can be certain they got a reward from this Biden regime for taking this idiot back.
It remains only for the rest of us to learn just what that price will be. I am so glad my Marine father is not here to see. Likewise, my older Uncle who served in the Navy in World War II. Behavior like this to this moron is past all understanding.
Kayster555 says
I say this everyday. I lost both parents during Covid but not to Covid and I say all the time, I am glad they are not here to see what is happening in our great country. My Dad said before he passed in September 2020 that he had never seen America in such bad shape as it is now.
Kay Kayster555 says
Sorry, Dad passed in September 2021. Mom passed in 2020.
Bryan says
I wonder how NK overlooked the opportunity to demand a billion dollars for his return.
Jeff Bargholz says
The Buy off Biden administration probably sent the money without the Norks even having to ask.
John Anderson says
We already have too many black criminals in the US. It would be good for our national security if the US did not take him back.
Indeed, if North Korea was willing to accept more black criminals from the US for a reasonable price, this could be a win/win for both countries. North Korea could get needed hard currency dollars and more people to build a Worker’s Paradice and the US could reduce its prison costs and recidivism rates.
Victor says
A caption at the bottom of the TV screen on “NBC News” last night read that Travis King had been “freed” from North Korea. I said to my wife, “That’s like saying that a tenant who hasn’t paid his rent and has been kicked out of his apartment has been `freed’ from that apartment building.”
Jeff Bargholz says
Good one! The moron tried to defect and was kicked out but the fake news media has a deceitful agenda. If King were white the media would portray him as a heinous villain.
Dave Hay says
Three words..,…”Lee Harvey Oswald “
jeremiah says
Everyone knew it was going to happen
Down Easter says
To get tossed out of North Korea is no mean feat.
js says
King is a military deserter. Here is the punishment under 10 U.S. Code § 885 – Art. 85. Desertion:
(c) Any person found guilty of desertion or attempt to desert shall be punished, if the offense is committed in time of war, by death or such other punishment as a court-martial may direct, but if the desertion or attempt to desert occurs at any other time, by such punishment, other than death, as a court-martial may direct.
We are still at war with N. Korea.
Jeff Bargholz says
Interesting point that America is technically still at war with the Norks.
