The Biden administration knew how bad it was and did nothing.
Chinese hackers had gained the ability to shut down dozens of U.S. ports, power grids and other infrastructure targets at will, Jake Sullivan told telecommunications and technology executives at a secret meeting at the White House in the fall of 2023, according to people familiar with it. The attack could threaten lives, and the government needed the companies’ help to root out the intruders.
What no one at the briefing knew, including Sullivan: China’s hackers were already working their way deep inside U.S. telecom networks, too.
Did they know? Did they not know?
The bottom line is they did nothing useful. The WSJ story pretends this is a new development, but China has a long history of catastrophic hacks, and the situation has been allowed to get and worse.
The telecom hacks completely compromised our communications, still hasn’t been resolved and may never be.
Some national security officials involved in the investigation said they believe the telecom hack is so severe, and the networks so compromised, that the U.S. may never be able to say with certainty that the Chinese hackers have been fully rooted out.
Certainly not if we keep letting it happen with no consequences.
Several senior lawmakers and U.S. officials have switched from making traditional cellphone calls and texts to using encrypted apps such as Signal, for fear that China may be listening in. Federal law-enforcement officials have told state and local law enforcement to do the same. (Federal agents already use their own encrypted systems for classified work.)
So we’ve basically surrendered. But what happens if China launches a serious attack on our infrastructure?
The infrastructure hacks also alarmed officials. In April, during a five-hour session with his Chinese counterpart in Beijing, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said China’s attacks on physical infrastructure were concerning, dangerous and escalatory, people familiar with the encounter said.
Flanked by aides at a long table with pots of tea and water, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi shrugged and called the allegations a phantom concocted by the U.S. to increase support for military spending.
In another meeting later that week, other U.S. officials presented evidence linking the intrusions to China-based IP addresses. The Chinese officials said they would look at it and get back to the Americans, but never substantively did, U.S. officials familiar with the interactions said.
This is pathetic. China knows what it’s doing and it’s laughing at us while we plead with it. The situation needs to fundamentally change because we’ve been invaded and our government is asking the invaders to stop.

When you consider the Top Military Official calling his Chinese counterpart to assure him that he will WARN him in the event PRESIDENT TRUMP orders an attack, can you be SURE we can do anything to harm the Chinese gov’t? I would HOPE that we have the capabilities to shut them down, but the Chinese don’t seem to think we’re much of a threat!
There’s plenty we can do to the Chicoms and there’s little they can do to counter it and they know it. The problem is, the current FBI, CIA and pentagon hierarchy lack the courage and moxie to confront the Chicoms or any other “real” threat to America.
Instead, they regard conservative Christians, Catholics, MAGA supporters and any organization that strongly supports Trump and the US Constitution and does not bow to the alphabet mafia or the liberal socialist agenda and does revere the democrat party as a real and imminent danger to America.
Terrorists sneaking across our open borders with military grade weapons (given to them by Obama and later, Biden) and possibly suitcase nukes (FYI: three suitcase nukes disappeared and have never been found after the collapse of the old Soviet Union) the old Soviet Union collapsed) is not a threat that they take seriously if they see it as a threat at all.
Instead, they regard the Chicoms, Islamic terrorists and an open border as a minor problem that takes a backseat to “their” perceived real dangers to our republic as I previously described.
Am I being hyperbolic? Perhaps. Then again, perhaps not. Time will

Actually, it would take less that that. China is on the verge of economic collapse but you won’t read about it in the US press and is only mentioned peripherally in passing by the US news media.
China is not what news media pundits have misled the American people to think it is. China hides it growing problems but ex-pats and foreigners who work in China will tell you a different story about China than the crap we hear on the nightly news. Simply put, we we see of China is a facade that’s hiding the country’s internal rot & decay and real problems.
Americans like to think that we’re well informed but the truth is, we not. If the only news you consume is the pablum served up by American media, then you are woefully ignorant about a great many things that go on around the world. Moreover, in America, we the people wrongly assume is “news” is actually opinions reported as news. You only need to look & search outside the US for news and information to come to that conclusion.
Perhaps I’m wrong for pointing out the deceit and corruption of the US news media and their contemptuous attitude towards the American people. But I don’t like being lied to and I don’t like people and organizations that misrepresent, distort or withhold the truth.
President Trump will retaliate.
