The Palestinian Authority or PLO funds terrorism. That’s a vague way of saying it funds the murder of Israelis and Americans. Not a problem for Joe.
The Biden administration privately confirmed to Congress last week that the Palestinian Authority has continued to use international aid money to reward terrorists but said the finding won’t impact its plans to restart funding.
In a non-public State Department report obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, the administration said the Palestinians spent at least $151 million in 2019 on its “pay-to-slay” program, in which international aid dollars are spent to support imprisoned terrorists and their families. Financial statements further indicate that at least $191 million was spent on “deceased Palestinians referred to as ‘martyrs.’” Despite this practice, which violates U.S. law and prompted the Trump administration to freeze aid to the Palestinians, the “Biden-Harris Administration has made clear its intent to restart assistance to the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza,” according to the report.
It remains unclear how the Biden administration will restart American aid without violating a 2018 bipartisan law known as the Taylor Force Act, which prohibits the U.S. government from resuming Palestinian aid until the payments to terrorists are stopped.
Biden’s old boss sent pallets of foreign cash on unmarked cargo planes to Iran. I’m sure some of the old Obama boys and girls, and their new even more radical friends will find a bunch of ways.
Or not even bother pretending.
The Obama administration conducted all sorts of illegal dealings while betting that no court would interfere with it when it came to foreign policy. Beyond Iran, there was the PLO, Cuba, and FARC, to name a few.
Stop by your local post office and you might just see a poster of Rodrigo “Timochenko” Londono hanging next to the Most Wanted posters of bank robbers and fugitives. The State Department is offering a $5 million reward for information about the Communist terrorist leader.
But all the State Department had to do was ask Secretary of State Kerry. Obama did the wave with the Cuban dictator and Kerry met with Timochenko , the leader of FARC, a Marxist terrorist organization that appears on his own department’s list of foreign terrorist organizations a little above Al Qaeda.
Hardly anyone even paid attention.
The odds are good that Biden could simply decide to break the law, call its bluff, and bet that no court would interfere. I suspect, sadly, that would be the case.
