Come on, man. If you’re going to be picky about who sits on UN bodies like the UN Human Rights Council, then you might as well shower every week too.
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield will seek to remove Russia from the U.N. Human Rights Council.
In a press conference in Bucharest, Romania, today, Thomas-Greenfield called Russian participation a “farce” and said Russia should not have a position of authority on the council.
Maybe first talk it over with other Human Rights Council members like China, Cuba, Somalia, Libya, Venezuela, Qatar, Pakistan, and the Death Empire of Zorgorosdor.
(I only made one of those up.)
Most of the UN Human Rights Council can’t spell human rights and think it’s something that entitles you to free lunches at Park Avenue cafes if you work for the UN.
Next thing you know Linda will be shocked to learn that Iran is joining the U.N. women’s rights commission where it will sit alongside Afghanistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Cuba… and Russia.
Maybe Linda can get on that one too. Not expelling Iran or Pakistan, whose governments murder women for being women, but the Russia thing.
