As the next phase of Israeli operations moves on to Rafah, the last Hamas redoubt, the pressure campaign is amping up.
Biden’s UN Ambassador, Linda Thomas-Greenfield warned that moving into Rafah will not be allowed.
“Look, we have been absolutely clear that under the current circumstances in Rafah, a military operation now in that area cannot proceed. And that would dramatically exacerbate the humanitarian emergency that we’re all seeking to alleviate right now. Israel has an obligation to ensure that civilians, that their civilian population is safe and that they’re secure and that they have access to humanitarian aid and to basic services. And I think you heard the secretary, make those statements clearly during his meetings and in his engagements with the press when he was there,” she told NPR.
Egypt has responded by threatening to suspend the Camp David Accords. The only peace that those accords ever brought was to turn over a whole lot of territory to Egypt in exchange for a peace of paper. Egypt has never ended its hostility, it simply lost enough wars to drop further plans and it had pivoted to an alliance with America rather than the USSR.
Rafah is on Egypt’s border and the threats from Egypt likely have more to do with Cairo not wanting to be flooded with Gazans as with protecting Hamas, but that’s also a factor. Hamas is a check on Israel and despite all the talk of peace, Egypt, like the Saudis, wants to preserve that check. A victory in Rafah would put Israeli forces closer and expose the tunnels between Egypt and Gaza.

Why won’t the ARABS take the “pals”?? Aren’t they brethren?? They KNOW that allowing the “pals” to enter their Nations would be like asking to be injected with cancer!! Who could blame them? BUT, that does not give them the right to insist that ISRAEL continue to suffer with them!! This is the result of their “looking the other way” and/or DIRECTLY assisting the hamass!! Time for those fleas to head home to the home dog!!

Depraved psychopathic murderous Islam is the enemy of Israel and America.
Make no mistake about that.
And Islam has also been the scourge of humanity for 1400 years.
Enough already.

They were such pals that they were kept in camps like dogs to be used against Israel. They were such pals that areas seized by invading Arab nations in 1948 was never used to create an Arab state as offered by the 1947 Partition Plan.

Well, then, by all means they should be pressuring Hamas to surrender and leave Gaza.

plus, when did we get to have any say in what Israel does?

Shouldn’t they though, especially with their professed concern for the civilians in Rafah? Hamas’ military situation is hopeless, and unlike hamas and fatah, Israel doesn’t even have the death penalty. You would think the left would be insisting hamas surrender immediately and stop the killing. It’s telling that they aren’t.
Personally, I hope hamas fights to the death and the IDF wipes them out in Gaza, TDB for any civilians killed. Hamas’ use of human shields and insistence on fighting to the bitter end is causing the ‘humanitarian crisis’ and civilian deaths, not the IDF.

Keep at it Israel. Do what has to be done and know that everyone including the Obama/Biden regime and Egypt would like it done anyway. But they have to pretend. So stand strong. Once it is actually over, although it never will actually be over with moslems, it will eventually blow over. Might take a decade but since so many countries and people hate you anyway, and always will, there is no point in trying to placate them.
In 2025 there will be a new government in the USA, and soon after a new one in Canada, and both will be more supportive of democracy over terrorism.

The crazies in our countries insist that it is the height of moral virtue to take in Mohammadens who have left “their own land” because their countries are disgusting, filthy hell-holes.
The crazies in our countries keep telling us that the Gaza territory is a disgusting, filthy hell-hole, which is inhabited by Mohammedans.
So the crazies should be protesting about Egypt closing their border and not allowing the Mohammedans from the Gaza territory into their countries.
And yet – the same crazies insist that the Mohammedans from the Gaza territory MUST STAY IN “THEIR OWN LAND.”
So the crazies should be insisting that the Mohammedans who have left their own countries and come into our countries should all go back home again, because they MUST STAY IN THEIR OWN LAND.
But the crazies refuse to believe this – they want to believe both that Mohammedans who live in filthy, disgusting hell-holes should leave and live somewhere else, and that Mohammedans who live in filthy disgusting hell-holes should stay “in their own land.” and NOT leave.
Which is it?
Personally I would be quite happy to go with the policy that all Mohammedans should live in their own countries. That would mean that all the Mohammedans in our countries would be send back to “their own lands.”
I’d be okay with that.
