If you think that Biden’s Afghanistan rout has gotten as bad as it’s going to, remember what Obama said about his former junior partner.
“Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f___ things up.”
Biden is rushing troops out of the country to meet the Taliban’s August 31st deadline even while admitting that Americans may be left behind.
After a suicide bombing caused by Biden’s decision to turn over security to the Taliban, the Jihadist group has another modest proposal.
The Taliban has requested that the United States keep a diplomatic presence in Afghanistan beyond the Aug. 31 withdrawal of U.S. military forces, a move that could entail the United States reopening the shuttered embassy in Kabul, said a person familiar with the discussions.
U.S. officials have been weighing the possibility of keeping diplomats there but a final order on the matter has not been given, the person said…
The Taliban have made this proposal to a number of countries that they have “poor relations” with including India.
Remember the current rout happened in part because the State Department dragged its feet on pulling out. Would it be insane enough to argue for maintaining a diplomatic presence under Taliban rule?
Probably.
The Biden administration was okay with the Haqqani network, which is holding at least one American hostage and was an ally of Al Qaeda, providing airport security.
Why settle for just one Benghazi when you can have two?
