What began with Mayor Eric Adams tentatively suggesting that the city’s invasion of illegal migrants was due to federal policies has now escalated to the Biden administration attacking Adams and the state’s governor.
It’s a hallmark of an administration where things are going well that the Biden administration is assembling talking points to prove that Gov. Hochul and Mayor Adams are incompetent. And while that may well be the case, the arsonist doesn’t get to argue that the firefighters could use a better response time.
And the Biden administration is the arsonist here.
Biden is suing states like Texas for their efforts to stop the illegals from entering the country. It’s suing Elon Musk’s SpaceX for not hiring “refugees”. Now it’s actually in a fight with New York.
Call this a win for Republican governors who shipped enough illegal aliens to New York City, Chicago and D.C. that a circular firing squad is starting to form.
The Biden administration pushed back Monday at criticism that it hasn’t done enough to help New York address its migrant crisis, citing two dozen areas where the city can strengthen its migrant operations.
Two letters obtained by POLITICO were sent to Gov. Kathy Hochul and Mayor Eric Adams on Monday from Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in response to the city and state’s concerns over not getting more help from the federal government.
Mayorkas mentioned structural and operational issues found during a week-long assessment of the city’s operations starting on Aug. 7, but didn’t give specifics, saying the recommendations would be first shared Monday with the city.
But remember, Mayorkas is supposed to be non-political.
“We are hopeful that our recommendations will equip the city to take additional steps to improve the migrant operations and maximize the value of our continued partnership and your support,” Mayorkas added.
The letters come after Hochul took to the podium last week saying the crisis “originated with the federal government, and it must be resolved with the federal government.”
There’s no hope of improving the migrant operations when the invaders keep coming. And they keep coming because the Biden administration keeps the border open.
When 100,000 migrant invaders arrive in New York City, Mayorkas babbling about “governance and organization of the migrant operations, including issues of authority, structure, personnel, and information” isn’t going to cut it.
