Just because Biden finished his rout from Afghanistan, doesn’t mean that he’s run out of allies to screw. After staging an international incident with France, running down the British PM, it’s on to his favorite hobby of genuflecting before China while screwing America… and Canada.
A Chinese technology executive held in Canada on US fraud charges could be freed as early as Friday after prosecutors said an extradition request against her would be dropped.
Meng Wanzhou, chief financial officer of Huawei, was detained in December 2018 at the request of the US.
The two sides agreed that all charges would eventually be dropped.
Wanzhou’s arrest was a big deal and led to major Chinese pressure on Canada.
China responded by arresting and trying a former Canadian diplomat, Michael Kovrig, as well as Michael Spavor.
Spavor was sentenced to 11 years in prison. Korvig was tried behind closed doors.
It’s not clear if the two Michaels are going to released now. And while it would seem unfathomable that their release would not have been arranged as part of the deal, it’s also possible that Biden hung them out to dry.
Canada went through all this on the word of the United States. And then Biden shrugged and said, “Yeah, never mind.”
Biden has managed to alienate most of America’s allies in a short amount of time. Including really close allies. By the time he’s done, many allies just won’t be willing to trust America again.
Biden is picking China over our allies. Again.
