In Disloyal: How the Military Brass is Betraying Our Country, the new pamphlet from the Freedom Center, one of the chapters delves into the undermining of service branch academies.

Here’s some of what is going on at the Air Force Academy.

As the BLM race riots devastated American cities, former superintendent Jay Silveria, who had been handpicked by former Air Force Chief of Staff David Goldfein to head the Academy, told students that it was “a time to acknowledge that disparities exist in our nation and within our Force, and that we must all be willing to talk about the realities of social injustice.”

“The Black Lives Matter movement is important and I understand the purpose and the oppression behind the movement,” Silvera told the Journal of Character and Leadership Development.

The USAFA once encouraged cadets to see themselves as part of something larger. Now it undermines that unity and cohesion with sessions that promote the “Native American Experience” and the “African-American Experience” urging those who “identify” with the group to segregate themselves by race and complain about their status within the military.

The identity politics rot continued as Silvera stepped down and was replaced by Superintendent Richard M. Clark. Just as Goldfein had made way for Brown, the first black Air Force Chief of Staff, Clark would be the first black superintendent of the Air Force Academy.

Clark described his son going to a BLM protest and suggested that much of the Air Force might feel the same way. “There’s probably an anger that we don’t even know about,” he suggested.

This sort of thing, as I noted in the article on Biden’s Navy Secretary pick, has become ubiquitous. 

Last year a midshipman had sued the Naval Academy over his expulsion for tweeting that Breonna Taylor, the girlfriend of a drug dealer, had gotten what was coming to her when she was shot after her boyfriend opened fire on police, and suggested that rioters should be shot.

While Naval Academy leadership targeted him, others who broadcast hatred for police and support of the Black Lives Matter race riots on social media were not disciplined in any way.

The lawsuit charged that Black Lives Matter and its radical tenets “have been embraced by the Naval Academy’s senior leadership and have made their pernicious assault on the First Amendment manifest”.

The Naval Academy’s superintendent, Vice Admiral Sean Buck, complained that “the manner in which he was publicly commenting on sensitive topics would be perceived as offensive and inflammatory.” The midshipman’s parents alleged in a fundraiser for their son’s successful legal case that Buck “unconditionally embraces the structural and institutional racism tenets of the BLM and Anti-Racist movements and that those tenets will be drilled into the minds of every member of the Brigade of Midshipmen through mandatory training.”

That’s the context for Biden’s academy purge. Some of those purged are political appointees, others have undisputed credentials. Guys like H.R. McMaster could have easily served under a Biden administration. The fact that Biden’s people don’t think H.R. McMaster is woke enough ought to be ringing alarm bells about just how much they intend to radicalize the academies with their latest coup.

The Biden White House has begun the process of removing Trump allies from military advisory boards, months after they were installed into those posts at the end of the last administration.

On Wednesday, Cathy Russell, the director of the White House’s Presidential Personnel Office, sent letters to 18 individuals on three different boards, asking for them to resign. The list includes the Board of Visitors to the Air Force Academy, Military Academy and the Naval Academy, the White House said.

This is unprecedented.

Massive purges of past administration appointees from boards in such a short time is really a coup. 

Meaghan Mobbs, an Afghanistan veteran who was also asked to resign from the West Point board, tweeted her reply to the White House: “I find this whole act unconscionable and not all in the spirit by which this Administration promised to govern. President Biden ran on a supposed platform of unity but his actions speak directly to the contrary. Apparently, unity is only for those who conform.”

Beyond that, there’s greed and radicalism at work here. Biden’s people want to start paying out favors now and they want to move in radicals into these positions. Who’s being forced out will be less significant than who takes their place.

Other former Trump officials appointed to similar boards were also threatened with firing on Wednesday, such as former national security adviser H.R. McMaster, lobbyist David Urban and retired Gen. Jack Keane, according to one of the fired board members. Later this week McMaster is getting honored by West Point’s Association of Graduates as a Distinguished Graduate of the academy.

Again, if H.R. McMaster isn’t woke enough for you… McMaster attacked President Trump. He just stopped short of officially endorsing Biden. 

So if McMaster isn’t radical enough, imagine how radical Biden’s picks will be.
