Republicans in 2020 attacked Biden over his age. Now Democrats are doing it, insisting that he shouldn’t run because he’s “too old”.
(Why Biden and not Pelosi and Clyburn to name a few in the House Dem leadership alone?)
I’ve had as much fun cracking senility jokes as anyone else, but tracking Biden’s career, he spent his Senate era telling crazy lies, spewing word salads, rambling inanely and generally embarrassing himself and everyone around him.
This isn’t a recent development.
Talking about Biden’s age is a copout. The real issue with Biden isn’t that he’s old, it’s who he is and who he’s always been, corrupt, egotistical and utterly over his head. Biden has no principles and so he panders to whatever the current sentiment is. That’s how he’s gone from anti to pro-busing and abortion. He’s a creature of his staffers, manipulated by his family, and yet is convinced of his own genius and sense of rightness.
Age has no doubt worsened Biden’s functionality, but the issue with his administration isn’t age. We’re not in this mess because Biden is in his late 70s. We would have been in this mess if he were in his forties.
Bringing up Biden’s age and accusing him of senility was a weak and ineffective 2020 Trump campaign strategy. Now it’s becoming a weak and ineffective Dem excuse for why they want Biden gone.
It’s not Biden’s age, it’s who he is. And who he’s always been.
