The culture war, after claiming Confederate generals and Indian team mascots moved on to ban everything from the term ‘field work’ to the Brownies. At least in Canada.
Brownies in Canada will be known as “Embers” from now on after the old name was deemed too racially divisive.
The group said in November that the old name had caused “harm” to some minority members, and kept girls from joining.
In a statement on its website, the GGC said the new name will help to create “a more inclusive space where all girls in Canada can feel welcome and proud to belong in Girl Guides”.
This is what happens when there’s a “racial reckoning” and then organizations bring in people to teach them how to be ‘anti-racist’ and to justify their paycheck, they change a bunch of things.
Girl Guides of Canada said they decided to change the name of their branch in November after current and former members claimed the previous name caused harm and was a barrier to belonging for racialized girls and women.
The name ‘brownies’ refers to the mythological fairy creatures in Scottish lore who help out around the house. Some wokes ought to tell them that they should change their name because it’s racist.
In my heart of hearts, I can hardly form words of appreciation for blessed luminaries possessed of perfect prescience harnessed to infallibility.
Lucky are we to be bossed around by savants who really do know everything.

That’s sad. My Mom used to be a Girl Scout and/or Brownie leader along with some of the other local ladies. They did a lot of good, or at least tried to.
I was thinking about getting a book by Baden-Powell, I think he started the scouting movement in Britain.

I’d have to suggest “Little Octobrists,” instead of “Embers.” Doesn’t “Embers,” exclude all girls who aren’t named Ember, or is it persecution of Embers? Whichever works at the moment, seems to be the rule of thumb.

The ‘Octobrists’ presumably refers to the October red revolutionaries i.e. Bolsheviks. There’s another noted Russian revolutionary group of officers known as the ‘Decembrists’, who, upon the death of Alexander in December of 1825, didn’t want the throne of Russia to be seized by Nicholas over the weak, heir apparent Konstantin, who didn’t want it himself. If they’d said they were changing the name because they were tired of hearing the old joke, “I got kicked out of the Cub Scouts for eating a Brownie,” I might have believed them.

“Embers”, a great steakhouse in Richmond, Ca. We had the “pioneers”, the “industrial generation” “the greatest generation”, the “baby boomer 60’s generation” and from that point on all of these people will be remembered as the “ridiculous generations” leading us to either a renaissance or a fall of the west.
I see they didn’t change the name to “Whities” I thought brown people were our main concern except for Black lives, the only lives that really matter. So, I don’t get how “Brownies” was a problem.

A name change is the least of what is disturbing about Girl Scouts/ Guides. Parents should really be aware that the entire program has been taken over by woke, PC Marxists who have completely rewritten the handbook and program. Girls are now taught to feel guilty if their family has more than others, to hate their countries, and other woke ideals. In the US this has been increasingly done for at least two decades. In my area, the Council is comprised of a lot of Lesbians. I grew up participating in Girl Scouts as did both my daughters. My mom was a leader as was I. But the Girl Scouts that I knew and loved is no more. I no longer buy their cookies, because they are teaching girls to be radical community organizers and Marxists.
