Why Muslim women wear burkas
The Burka was created to separate slave girls from Muslim women. The former could be sexually assaulted while the latter could not.
But it’s also taken on a new role as a ski mask that you can wear on the street, before a robbery, without anyone saying a word for fear they will be accused of Islamophobia.
That fear cost one establishment in New York City, nearly a cool million in jewels.
A thief wearing a burqa and armed with a spray bottle made off with nearly $1 million worth of necklaces and watches from a Hudson Yards jeweler on Sunday, police sources said.
The bling bandit, a man dressed in a burqa covering most of his face, walked into the luxury Piaget jewelry store at around 3:55 p.m. and asked to look at a necklace, sources and police officials said.
As the clerk pulled out the necklace, priced at about $21,000, he noticed the man was holding onto one of the store’s watches, according to sources.
When the employee questioned the soon-to-be thief, he whipped out the spray bottle and squirted it in the clerk’s direction before running out of the store, with the necklace and two watches — one priced at $64,000, and the other $715,000 — in tow, police sources said.
Why would the clerk have even given someone wearing a mask this much liberty?
Because he knew perfectly well that if he didn’t, the store would be accused of “Islamophobia”, protested by Linda Sarsour, and denounced by the national media. So he did the obviously stupid thing and the store lost over $800K.
But he’s less likely to be fired over it. And even if he is, he won’t be hit with cancel culture slurs like Counter Carl that will make him unemployable.
Who suffers?
Piaget is insured. Its rates may go up a bit. Much of the damage will be passed along by the insurance company to ordinary people.
