The backlash against Hamline University’s firing of an art teacher who had showed Shiite pictures of Mohammed at the behest of the Muslim Students Association and CAIR has made its way to art historians, PEN and the New York Times.
MPAC broke from CAIR and issued a condemnation of the firing. CAIR however is doubling down.
Aram Wedatalla, who is the head of Hamline’s Muslim Student Association, said she was blindsided by an image of the Prophet Muhammad presented in her World Art class at Hamline last fall.
“I’m 23 years old. I have never once seen an image of the prophet,” said Wedatalla fighting back tears during a press conference held Wednesday at the Minneapolis headquarters of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN).
The class had been given a trigger warning and had been told well beforehand that this was going to happen.

CAIR-MN executive director Jaylani Hussein said most Muslims around the world oppose the public display of images of the Prophet Muhammad. To show the image of the Prophet, said Hussein, is deeply offensive. And he called that violation of the prohibition an act of Islamophobia. And he said it doesn’t matter that the instructor warned students before she showed the image.
“In reality a trigger warning is an indication that you are going to do harm,” he said.
Jaylani Hussein is really doubling down here. But not surprising after Hussein’s previous Hitler analogies.
Except his claim is that the MSA head was forced to endure a Mohammed painting that she could have avoided by leaving is Islamophobia and causes harm.
Hussein is avoiding the fact that Shiites do depict Mohammed. The Muslim Brotherhood fronts are demanding that Americans enforce the Sunni sharia and accusing a professor of Islamophobia for showing Shiite art. This is theocratic gibberish that liberals are rejecting and even wokes are staggering under.
CAIR is clearly stating that anything that its sect of Islam opposes is ‘Islamophobic’. And that’s giving the game away.
Lopez Prater said she didn’t mean to offend anyone. And she included advanced notice in the course syllabus.
“This course will introduce students to several religious traditions and the visual cultures they have produced historically,” reads a copy of the syllabus Lopez Prater provided to MPR News.
“This includes showing and discussing both representational and non-representational depictions of holy figures (for example, the Prophet Muhammad, Jesus Christ, and the Buddha). If you have any questions or concerns about either missing class for a religious observance or the visual content that will be presented, please do not hesitate to contact me.”
If Aram was so shocked and offended, why did she even take the class?
1. She was lazy and paid little attention.
2. This was a deliberate Islamist provocation to show off their power while playing the victim. Now it’s backfiring.
Wedatalla said whether intended or not, the classroom display caused her pain.
“It just breaks my heart that I have to stand here to tell people that something is Islamophobic and something actually hurts all of us, not only me,” she said.
Clearly, it doesn’t “hurt all of us”. All the whining in the world won’t change that. What Wedatalla is really saying is that Shiites aren’t Muslims. That’s effectively what Hussein is also saying. That’s far more revealing of their place in the Islamic theological spectrum than anything else.
And the woke victimhood theater will only change so much of that. CAIR lost this round. And it’s come closer to exposing what it is to liberals than it has in over a decade.

How do they know what he looks like then, it could be an image of anyone.
While we’re at it, I’m pretty sure that Jesus didn’t actually look like Gregg Allman.
Pity this school and All American schools, from colleges down to kindergartens don’t post as many images of this ‘prophet’ as possible everywhere. Simply because this demand to ‘submit’ to Islam needs to be address in the fullest term – don’t like it? Then take yourself to some Islamic nation of your choice, because this is America. We don’t need to make you happy in your ‘religious’ needs. Just as we don’t need your phony religion.
