A Democrat California politician is tried of all those privileged missing kids and senior citizens hogging the alert system.
Senate Bill 673, introduced last week, would create the “Ebony Alert” system for missing black children and young women. When activated, the proposed system – similar to Amber or Silver alerts — would inform people of missing black children and young women.
State Sen. Steven Bradford, who introduced the measure, says the new alert system would ensure that resources and attention are given to bringing home missing black women and children — eliminating implicit racial bias in cases involving missing persons of color.
Great. So when will missing Latino, Asian, transgender and gay people get their own colorful alerts?
I can already picture a colorful panoply of alerts that everyone will ignore as they keep receiving orange, purple, magenta, and mauve alerts. I remember when lefties used to mock Homeland Security color-coded alerts, now they’re well on their way to creating their own ridiculous racist version of them.
There’s a reason that we have Amber Alerts. Normal people, who don’t view a child as a missed abortion opportunity, prioritize children above all else. Child abductions represent a special circumstance and while rare, when such an incident occurs, Amber Alerts quickly get people to be on the alert.
Elderly people suffering from dementia who wander off also represent a special problem.
Black people going missing are not a special category. No more than any other group. Sending urgent alerts for people simply on account of their race poisons the well and makes it less likely that people will react quickly to Amber Alerts.
So missing kids will have to die for equity.
Historical bit of trivia: it was the classical liberal Democrat mayor of my former SF Bay city that suggested the color-coded alert system for Homeland Security. But because Bush adopted it, the color-coded system was attacked on all fronts by the Democrats, even though one of their own, with impeccable Democrat credentials (besides being a nice person) had proposed it.
But I suppose we will also need rainbow alerts for those SPECIAL missing perspns????

Ever since I was old enough to be aware of the problem–that was more than sixty years ago–I noticed that some people–mostly Democrats–talked incessantly about race, race, race, race, race, race, race, race, ad infinitum. They have race on the brain! As a young person, I was aware that for some people, the race issue was a money-making enterprise–back then the political ‘angle’ did not occur to me. Today we refer to these people as race hustlers. As a teenager all of those years ago it was obvious to me even then that the ‘injury’ of race would never ‘heal’ so long as people kept ‘picking at the sore’. Given the corruptness of human nature I doubt that the race issue will ever be resolved. The race issue will certainly not be resolved in my lifetime.
I don’t think amber or silver alerts are for whites only. So it’s just another ridiculous solution for a non-existent problem being offered by a race-obcessed Dem. Same shiite – different day.
Excellent point. We have amber alerts in California, and whenever it is a black or Mexican kid that is missing, MSM puts on a full court press to publicize it.
