Ivy League college campuses are some of the most leftist places in the country. The pro-Hamas campus riots radicalized the next generation of leaders into supporting Islamic terrorism, they terrorized Jewish students and in the process, transformed their politics.
When the encampments went up on elite campuses, Jewish students abandoned the far left in droves. The share of Jewish Ivy League students who identify as “very liberal” on a 7-point ideology scale declined from 40% before the encampments to 13% after they appeared. The proportion of “strong Democrats” tanked from 37% to 14% while the Republican share rose from 12% to 18%. Ivy League Jews went from being well to the left of the median Ivy League student to leaning right of the average.
Speaking anecdotally, I’ve seen a political shift among young secular Jewish Ivy League professionals from knee-jerk liberalism to much less enthusiasm for the movement and more openness to Trump. They’re not about to become Republicans, but based on the FIRE surveys quoted here, they are moving away from the Left.
The drop in affinity for the Left is massive and portends a generational shift.

I lived the majority of my life with no overt antisemitism then October 7, 2023 in Israel happened.

For those who claim they are Born Again and call Lord Jesus Christ their Savior and Lord and are seething or overt antisemites are also saying they despise Yeshua Messiah because HE is Hebrew.
I call Jesus my Savior and Lord and ascribe to no practicing religion, I want no firewall between me and YHVH and my Savior and Lord.
Jesus took HIS Hebrew DNA with HIM and is coming back with the same.

I don’t think most Americans hate Jews per se, but I do think many people, all over the world, are filled with envy and resentment of any group that is so highly successful that it boggles the mind as to how they do it. When that happens conspiracy theories abound.

The highly successful Overseas Chinese have suffered more legal discrimination and pogroms in Asian countries than even the Jews have suffered in Europe. I had to sleep in my car for a couple weeks in my Church parking lot because my apartment building manager screwed up and delayed my move in date that long. I’d already vacated my previous residence. We later became friends but I sure hated her at first. Sleeping in my car was embarrassing but not so bad because it’s a Camry and has a big back seat. If schools were to seriously address multiculturalism, they would address why the Jewish people have been so demonstrably overrepresented in the higher professions and among Nobel Prize winners. I grew up in a town with relatively few Jewish people yet those few Jews were far more likely to be in the high school honors classes reserved for the top 10% of students. From what I’ve read the best theory I’ve found is that back around the year 300 the rabbis made it mandatory for Jewish parents to educate their boys to read, write, memorize, learn, and analyze the Torah.
Those Jews who could not afford to do so dropped out of Judaism and converted to some other religion. Those Jews who had no love of learning also did the same. This made the Jews a self-selecting group of individuals who loved learning and had natural intellect.
From then on, the Jews who were mostly illiterate farmers like the rest of the people from other nations and religions around them became literate and numerate while the people surrounding them remained illiterate farmers. The literate and numerate Jews left farming behind and went into the occupations requiring literacy and numeracy. The rest is history.

April, 2024 I was on a phone call with the creator, writer, producer of the 1970’s “Kung Fu” television series regarding a book he wrote: “Spiritual Journey of Joseph L. I can’t hate somebody because of their race or their faith. But I definitely hate anyone who supports the left with their votes or dollars.
Judaism is a great and proud religion, and deserves respect. But as long as Jews are giving the lion’s share of their money and votes to the Democrats, and fanatically opposing immigration restrictions, they will invite the enmity of even those Americans who support Israel and are disgusted with the Dems’ anti-Semitism.
My take from this is that Jews are extremely slow to catch on and amongst the most braindead of anyone on the left, and that’s saying something. In fact, they might be even dumber than the “gays for Palestine” crowd. I have to cut them a little slack, though, because a Jewish friend (who is now a MAGA guy) once told me that being far left for a Jew is like breathing, you are born into it, surrounded by it, and it is as normal as the sun rising and setting and unthinkable not to be.
