In the Victim Value Index, Canadian celebrity vegans pull less weight than Communist bat eaters. Sorry guys.
Canadian singer Bryan Adams blamed “bat eating, wet market animal selling, virus making greedy bastards” on Instagram for putting the world on hold.
Fact check: fairly accurate.
Adams was actually going on a vegan rant whose point was, unsubtly, “go vegan”. He wasn’t attacking the Communist party or Chinese people. But the politically correct coronaphobic culture being what it is, he was accused of racism and forced to apologize.
We musn’t stigmatize eating bats after all. Or suggest that maybe wet markets are not exactly spreading good things.
Adams has since apologized, saying, “No excuse, I just wanted to have a rant about the horrible animal cruelty in these wet-markets being the possible source of the virus, and promote veganism.”
That actually is the excuse. But words don’t mean anything anymore.
Anyway Adams should have stuck to safe critiques of westerners eating burgers, instead of actually complaining about the eating habits of the third world. Like criticisms of racism or oppression, such critiques can only be directed toward western countries.
