Last March, I wrote an article headlined, “The CDC was Fighting Racism and Obesity Instead of Stopping Epidemics”. 

You’ll be happy to know that, just like every other inept and worthless government agency, absolutely nothing has changed or will change.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Thursday called racism a “serious threat” to public health, becoming the latest, and largest, U.S.-based health agency to single out racism as having a “profound and negative impact on communities of color” and contributing to disproportionate mortality rates among people of color.

“Confronting the impact of racism will not be easy,” the CDC’s director, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, said in a statement published on the agency’s website. “I know that we can do this if we work together. I certainly hope you will lean in and join me.”

In its announcement, the CDC noted that the Covid-19 pandemic has had a disproportionate impact on ethnic groups. The public health agency added that racial minority groups “experience higher rates of illness and death across a wide range of health conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, obesity, asthma and heart disease when compared to their White counterparts.”

Blaming different rates of medical problems among different ethnic and racial groups on racism is the medical science of racist idiots.

But that’s increasingly the only kind we have in a society whose elites have decided to commit to racialism as no other society since Nazi Germany. 

Beyond the culture war though is the ongoing useless incompetence of the CDC.

Walensky has failed at providing basic medical guidance during the pandemic, but is absolutely happy to use anti-racism buzzwords and fight racism in an agency whose job is to actually deal with health threats.

And that’s not new.

In 1999, the CDC announced a plan to end syphilis in 5 years. The Clinton era National Plan to Eliminate Syphilis was an unserious social welfare proposal that wanted to battle racism and was such a success that by 2018, syphilis rates had hit a new record high.

By the time the Clinton administration had gotten through wrecking the CDC, its labs were infested with mice and rats, and had leaky ceilings. Not only hadn’t it cured syphilis, but it was utterly unready to deal with the anthrax threat. The Obama administration rolled back Bush administration reforms and brought back the old broken CDC under Thomas Frieden. After Frieden botched the Ebola crisis, even mainstream media outlets joined Republicans in calling for his resignation.

This pandemic will pass and the CDC will go back to pushing social justice, wasting money, and failing utterly at its core function.
