What we don’t have here is a failure to communicate.

Dr. Rochelle Walensky assumed her new role as the director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last January with a vow to restore trust in the agency. But last fall, several months into the job and after a series of messaging missteps, Walensky sought out media training.

For months, Walensky has met privately with prominent Democratic media consultant Mandy Grunwald to improve her communication skills and continues to do so, according to a person familiar with the previously unreported sessions.

Mandy worked on The Man From Hope and was a key figure around Hillary. She’s worked for Elizabeth Warren and helped build up Bill Clinton’s image.

Not the person that the head of an agency that is claiming to be non-partisan should be turning to for messaging tips. But Walensky’s problem isn’t really messaging, it’s that the CDC keeps lying to protect Democrat political agendas.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director Rochelle Walensky was confronted Friday with memes mocking the credibility of her agency after a series of confusing messages has baffled Americans amid a record surge in COVID-19 cases, but she chalked backlash up to “fast-moving science.”

And the science has now decided that COVID is endemic and we should all just live our lives? The only science involved in that conclusion is polling science.

Walensky put the CDC shamelessly at the service of lefty interests while destroying its credibility. This may be my favorite moment from the CDC ‘sciencing’ it.

In November, the American Federation of Teachers was touting Kelly Trautner’s views on safe school reopenings. By 2021, the AFT’s Director of Healthcare, was offering her own lessons on “yoga and pranayama practices” and “meditation and mindfulness”.

As a certified yoga teacher and “Registered Karuna Reiki Master” (meaning she had mastered Stage III of Holy Fire of the pseudoscience which includes “healing past life issues” and “clearing cellular memories from the DNA”), this was something Trautner was qualified to do.

But the AFT’s Director of Healthcare, occasional yoga teacher, executive coach, and master of the secret energy arts was telling the CDC under what conditions schools could be reopened.

Because science. Political science.

Turning to Dem messaging people doesn’t fix the CDC’s credibility problem. It worsens it.
