The Chicago Teachers’ Union, like Nazis, Islamic terrorists, and diseased ferret owners, are always angry.
After demanding $145,000 salaries, free Ozempic, and turning every school into an illegal alien shelter/Green New Deal lab, they still haven’t gotten everything they wanted. Like free sex changes and “more queer competent” employees. Also secretly transitioning students.
Now CTU is shrieking that a “contract that protects queer & trans students and ensures affirming, inclusive curriculum is what our students deserve” and tweeted a video of a transgender man at a CTU rally demanding “fully funded bilingual education”, and claiming that “if our schools aren’t safe for queer and trans adults, how can they be safe for our queer and trans students?”
I’m not too sure Chicago schools are safe for any adults. But maybe that’s why CTU members don’t show up for work.
State records show that over 41% of CPS teachers exceeded 10 days of absence last year, the Chicago Tribune reported. These absences are in addition to the built-in vacation time allotted to teachers for the school year, which includes ten days for winter break, five for spring break and eight additional days off for holidays, according to the outlet.
As a minor note, 80% of Chicago public school students can’t do math.
And if I were the human parasites responsible for demanding $145K and free Ozempic for that kind of track record, I would definitely want to make sure that future taxpayers were unable to do math, but instead knew every one of the 14,000 pronouns which the CTU teachers of tomorrow and other useless people will be using.

Math is linked to economics. That is why so many ex football players go broke, despite bazillions in salary.

The same can be said for entertainers

The Chicago teacher’s union is Satanic.

Hmm, maybe a metaphysical presence is why Randi Weingarten’s presence id always so disturbing.

I read somewhere that in the country of India ( 1..5 Billion people) that the number of students in their version of High Honors classes, their best and brightest students, is larger than the entire school population of the United States. We are doomed….

Time to get back to the 3 R’s and I don’t mean Reduce, Reuse & Recycle and quit Brainwashing them with this Transgender nonsense
CowboyUp says
So how many days of summer break do Chicago teachers get? That’s the biggest break of all. It was conspicuously absent from the linked Fox story, and the ChiTrib story it linked to was behind a paywall. Trib wouldn’t want just anybody reading how abysmal Chicago schools and teachers are.
Another question is how many paid sick days do they get a year? I bet they take the max. They’re supposed to be setting an example on attendance. Maybe they are, what’s the absentee rate for students? Bet it’s astronomical.

I had a friend who used to teach in the Chicago schools, decades ago. It was so bad even back then that he eventually quit, despite being a true blue idealist. He told me some horror stories.

I know a teacher in Dekalb County schools(East Metro Atlanta area) who just quit after 17 years. There are good reasons so many public school teachers send their children to private schools.

The only thing these teachers are capable of teaching is how to be human toilets.

Two of my grdgirls (e-teens) were removed from a small public school district in Conservative SD.
They now attend a Parochial school. The parents had enough of the public DEI preaching.
My other two grdgirls attend a uniformed NV public school.
ALL the girls are doing well.
I’d prefer NONE attend a “Public” school. But at least all are doing better…..

Have teachers picked up where Catholic priests left off? The priests should have chummed up with the left and got some marketing like “Minor Attracted Persons” to make everything they were doing A-OK.

Chicago public school graduate – both grammar school and high school 72 and 76 respectively. Funny, back then we learned reading, writing, math, history, music, science……..can’t recall a need, desire or want for a transgender curriculum. What happened over the last 50 plus years?????

Bill: What happened was two major things. In 1973, Capital stopped sharing with Labor their share of productivity increases and “Greed is good” became the mantra.

The second thing that happened was the emergence of “Political Correctness” that infected our society, especially the so-called “Elites” and morphed into a number of cultural illnesses like Wokeness or DEI, which Wal Mart just dropped. MEI may be emerging to counter it: Merit, Excellence, Intelligence. It will take time lbut is devoutly to be hoped.

Bill, I am 87, started working at age 9 on a Saturday paper corner selling the Seattle PI, Seattle Times, NY Sunday News. Made $5.50 most days. Ice cream cones were a nickel, double scoop 8 cents; BIG milkshake 25 cents, to put that earning into perspective. Telephone was on the wall with no dial and a 4-party line. Our current capabilities would have been scoffed at and labeled “science fiction”. We don’t have polio epidemics which terrified both me, my brothers and parents. Forward will be better if we Wake Up. I wonder what our “Pearl Harbor” will look like that saves the West and the USA.
Ordinary American says
Why not pull 100% of federal funds sent to the states in any and all forms and just send it to the families directly. Let the CTU and the wise leaders of that city make due with whatever they can get their state and city to approve. But in the meantime the people will have funds to make other educational choices.
