We’re not all in this together. And of all the ‘us’ who aren’t in this together, there are three top winners.
1. Politicians
2. Celebrities
3. Teachers’ unions
The unions have kept shrieking that going back to school is a death sentence. Then they demanded an early place in line for the vaccine while still refusing to teach. By the end of the year, even most of the leftiest media outlets were reporting that contrary to their previous false claims…
A. Schools are low-risk environments
B. Virtual learning is a miserable failure
The Chicago Teachers Union is one of the worst of the national teacher mafias with its only close contenders being in New York and Los Angeles. So it’s fitting that this is how it closes out the year.
A Chicago Teachers Union leader is facing criticism for vacationing in the Caribbean while at the same time claiming it’s unsafe for teachers to return to the classroom.
Sarah Chambers is on the union’s executive board and is an area vice president.
As recently as Thursday, she tweeted to rally special education teachers not to return to work Monday because it’s unsafe.
The last thing that parents of children with special needs need is education.
Sarah’s Twitter bio sums up the state of the education system, the one that homeowners are being bled white to fund, well enough on its own.
CTU N-Area Vice President, led 4 strikes, special ed teacher, 2017 Chicago Activist of the year, CORE, socialist.
And her Twitter feed is full of the usual, IFYOUMAKEUSWORKWEREGONNADIE stuff.
“We’ve had so many family members die already, even remote. 50% of my staff, working in the building got Covid, imagine how many would die with reopening!”
and
“Hearing of an educator revolution happening. Tons of members are emailing their admin: I’ll be asserting my right to continue to work in a safe remote environment on January 4th, 2021. I have signed the pledge, along with over 8,000+ union educators to continue to work remotely.”
You can guess the rest.
Just a few hours earlier, Chambers posted a picture on Instagram that appears to show her pool side in Puerto Rico and talking about going to Old San Juan for seafood.
Chambers is, predictably, playing the victim, and claiming that airplane travel is safer than going to the grocery store or doing her damn job.
I got 4 covid tests (2 rapid, 2 PCR) b4 coming here & wore 2 masks (N95). Scientists said airplanes are safer than grocery stores bc airplanes have ICU level filtration & everyone wears masks. My doc said it’s extremely unlikely for me to get Covid again since I had it so badly
So doesn’t this mean Sarah can go back to school while wearing two masks and getting 400 tests?
Pop quiz: If her doctor says she’s unlikely to get the coronavirus and it’s safe for her to go on vacation, how can it not be safe for her to go back to school?
Bottom line. Municipal union parasites are the worst human beings ever. And this creature is fighting to deny special ed students their education, but has no problem going on vacation.
But it’s okay. She was wearing two masks. And she’s a socialist. This is what life is like under socialism. For the socialists. Just ask a Russian. The nomenklatura get dachas and everyone else gets to pay for it.
