Mayor Lightfoot of Chicago has joined a growing number of Democrat mayors and city bosses who draw the line at Black Lives Matter harassment when it comes to their own homes.
“I have a right to make sure that my home is secure,” Mayor Lightfoot said.
And she’s right. But that’s a right everyone should have.
One of the uglier tactics of the BLM racist hate group has been harassing people in their homes. That includes breaking and entering private property. A variety of Democrat city officials in Seattle, Chicago, and other cities have drawn the line at being harassed personally, while in Los Angeles, DA Jackie Lacey’s husband, who is black, was arrested for trying to defend his home against BLM bigots led by Melina Abdullah.
Everyone has a right to be safe in their homes. That wasn’t just one of the premises of the American Revolution, it’s an idea that Black Lives Matter is waging war against.
Public safety means personal safety. It means the right of people to be safe in their homes and to be able to maintain their possessions. Full stop.
And only in a corrupt oligarchy like, say Chicago, is that a right reserved for politicians.
